#color ref

As I've mentioned before, Lycanthra has been my baby for quite some time. The last time I drew up and colored full references for the entire cast, for example, was 2019 - now almost seven years ago! As such, their stuff was all very outdated, and since I had just written up a text-based character description list, it felt very fitting to illustrate the entire cast again.

I'm not going to re-share the entire description list again - instead, you can visit the full (free) post here using this link. However, I do have a few extra notes I'd like to throw in!

CAST REFERENCE NOTES

The little orange circles over more than half the crew's ankles (and embedded in Faine, Fawkes, and Summer's feet) signify gravity manipulation! Especially in an island-based space world like the Iron Archipelago, having shoes that keep you grounded is super important. Grav-boots (or other shoes/limbs with gravity enhancement) can either increase or decrease an individual's gravity relative to the surface they're standing on. Most of the Lycanthra crew members use it to jump higher or stick to walls!

Pitch and Harper are both wearing jackets that used to belong to Wilson Alder.

Catie's jacket used to belong to Laura Deenheart (Jason's mom).

Pitch, Alex, and Teresa are the only ones here carrying non-Lycanthra weaponry.

Pitch's favorite handguns are his customized Starvenom pistols, which Wilson gave to him years ago.

Alex's axe was made in [ x ].

Teresa only owns three weapons total: a fixed-blade standard-issue IAF knife (bought second-hand), an enchanted switchblade, and the small handgun shown here, which is Adreonian (gift from Silver).

Summer can actually detatch her winged forearms and attach hands. She does this regularly when she works in the kitchen during the summers. Other times, she uses magic-formed hands.

Alex, Vixen, Gears, and Sal all consider each other siblings. (The reason as to why pertains to the plot of the second installment in the series, which is only partly written.)

Fawkes and Faine are twins.

Temp, Bronze, Fawkes, and Faine are the most senior crew members of the Syndicate except for Pitch, Harper, and Jeremy Laremond (not pictured bc he's a very minor character). They've known each other a long time and are very close.

With the exception of Fawkes and Faine who are siblings, these four do not consider themselves siblings so much as family-by-Syndicate.

All four of them do consider Summer their younger sister.

Malex and Halifax are both technically auxiliary members of the Syndicate, not full-fledged members. They're both residents of the syndicate base though.

Sal, Alex, Vixen, and Gears are also the primary and founding members of the Salvaged Remnants, a smaller guild based out of several linked garages in Voaden proper. They are officially allied with Lycanthra, and are considered one of the Syndicate's official support groups.

Silver is the only person here who is not an official Syndicate member at all. This is due to plot reasons linked to a Lycanthra short story AND Fractal Alliances.

Osborne, Silver, and Teresa are all part Shade. They, in addition to Pitch and Harper, can all use Shadow magic. This is...tricky, considering part of Lycanthra's primary sale model involves Hellfire weapons, which are the direct antithesis to all things Shade.

Out of all the members pictured, Catie is the only full-blooded Lionan capable of shapeshifting.

Jason is 1/3 Lionan.

Fawkes and Faine are both Lionan-adjacent. If Lycanthra could afford to design fully-shapeshifting android forms, Faine would be in that type of body instead (and he's actually quite bothered by this).

Temp and Sal are the only non-psykojics here who can use control magic.

Catie's hair and eye color are both natural and innate the Lionans, who are often very colorful despite being created in the image of the human legend of the werewolf.

The Iron Archipelago is one of the only worlds where pride flags still exist (as we know them) and serve a purpose, so multiple characters are in fact wearing accurate flags.

Pitch is wearing someone else's dogtags :)

I probably have plenty of other notes I could add, but that's it for now. I hope you all enjoy getting to see more stuff for Lycanthra!! I really enjoyed working on these, and it gave me something fun to do while I suffered through the holiday season at work.
