In time, with her near, he lost track of what it was he had been perturbed about. She soothed him in a manner that was unparalleled. No vice he owned could ever work the same kind of magic that she did.Adam leaned into her, silently accepting her affections. He curled his arms around her and buried his face against her shoulder for a few moments. He smiled and rocked them both from side to side as he hugged her close. He lifted his head, looked at her and studied the face she owned this time. No matter how many times she left him...she was always beautiful. Each reincarnation was special to him for different reasons, but the fact that she was here...That was what mattered to him most. He found her hand, entangled their fingers together and brought his lips against hers.
