Hakuouki x Hana no Mai Collaboration menu (13th instalment)

(I can no longer drink Hijikata's non-alcoholic drink. I'm kind of tired so sorry if this doesn't make much sense)

Of the cards, one will be given out at random
Of the coasters, you will receive one of the respective character
Cards and coasters cannot be exchanged unless they are damaged or dirty. They can only be exchanged on the day itself.
The photos are for illustration purposes only. Glasses and tableware may vary by store.
Please note that alcoholic beverages can not be served to customers under the age of 20, or those who have to drive home.

Appetizer: Chicken thighs marinated in Kyoto-style miso sauce, and Japanese omelette Sashimi: tuna and negitoro (tuna minced with welsh onion leaves) topped with salmon roe Fried food: assorted tempura Meal: cooked rice with cherry blossom flower and tomewan (soup served with pickles and rice)
Note: A Shokado Bento is a lunch box with a cross-shaped partition inside and a high-rimmed lid. The serving style combines rice with several side dishes. The name is derived from Shokado Shoujou (1584-1639) a priest from Kyoto. He was inspired by the containers farmers used to hold seeds.

FOOD MENU
Demon vice commander
~ Shrimp tempura topped with Shibazuke tartar sauce~ read: Oni no fukuchou Leadership likened to a Demon. The perfect combination of a sweet and sour Shibazuke tartar and the umami of shrimp fit for the taste of a Vice Commander.
*Shibazuke (柴漬け) = Kyoto-style chopped vegetables pickled in salt with red shiso leaves
The three-step thrust of a Kenjutsu instructor
~ Avocado salad with the scent of basil ~ read: kenjutsu shinanyaku no sandan tokki The freshness of the basil and the rich flavour of the avocado, both boosted by a spicy mountain wasabi pretzel. Truly, deliciousness in 3 steps.
Okita's gentleness
~ Nagasaki castella floating on Uji Matcha ~ read: Okita no yasashisa A traditional dessert that combines the gentle sweetness of Nagasaki castella with the deep bitterness of Uji Matcha. Served with ice cream.
Sano-san's spear
~ Mentaiko* potato salad wrapped with cured ham ~ read: Sano-san no yari A mentaiko* potato salad wrapped with cured ham. The spice of the mountain wasabi pretzel gives a sharpness to the aftertaste.
*Mentai (明太) or mentaiko (明太子) = walleye pollack roe
!! Chizuru warns you that the wasabi is quite strong, and you should take care if you're not good with spicy foods!!
Chii-sama's feelings
~ A serving of honey cheese ~ read: Chii-sama no omoi A combination of crispy fried cheese spring rolls and rich Camembert. A sweet experience entwined with honey.
Three idiot fried chicken
~Fried chicken wings in 3 colours ~ read: sanbaka karaage The smell of the sea in the abundant dried seaweed, the excitement of chilli pepper, and the rich spices of curry. These coloured chicken wings let you enjoy three distinct personalities through three toppings.
Hajime's determination
~ Almond jelly* pudding with white mochi ~ read: hajime no ketsui A perfectly clear jelly, squishy white mochi and soft almond jelly* pudding. These three layers truly embody unwavering determination.
* Almond jelly, almond pudding, or almond tofu (杏仁豆腐) is often prepared using apricot kernels (杏仁), not almonds – though the flavour is similar – and in most recipes does not use soybeans, though the consistency is similar.
Heisuke's anguish

Toshizou's anger
Black grape, milk and vodka, topped with blueberries "The sweetness and bitterness of the grapes covered with a mellow milk. ... Not bad. Enjoy the flavour without rushing." (read: Toshizou no ikari)
Souji's teasing
A mix of kiwi and green tea, a pleasant meeting of kiwi and green tea. "Make sure to thoroughly mix it when you drink, it'll bring out the sweetness and the acidity, and make it even better." (read: Souji no ijiwaru)
Hajime's ingenuity
Blue Jelly Calpis sour. The refreshing texture of the blue jelly is a plus! "A sweet and bitter Calpis sour. It feels gentle in the mouth, but... the aftertaste is surprisingly sharp." (read: Hajime no kiten)
Heisuke's cheerfulness
Peach orange. A burst of tropical freshness. "Oh, what a cheerful flavour! It brightens my mood, and it makes me feel like I could have quite a few!" (read: Heisuke no akarusa)
Sanosuke's empathy
Cassis blood orange. A slightly luxurious cassis au lait with blood orange. "A cassis au lait with blood orange, what a sophisticated drink. The colour and sweetness... they suit you." (read: Sanosuke no ninjou)

*薄鈍 (usunibi): is a traditional Japanese colour referring to a pale, greyish-blue, which has been used since the Heian period. It was particularly used to refer to clothing and ornaments of aristocracy.
