Colgate students attired in suits and ties drink Coca-Cola in the campus store, May 1949. The campus store moved from the basement of Stillman Hall to the basement of East Hall in the late 1930s. It provided students with necessities like ice cream, coffee, and cigarettes, and services such as button-sewing. It was a hub for card games -- and one of the only places on campus where the all-male student population could interact with women 😬 The store moved to the O'Connor Campus Center when it was opened in 1967. We're pretty keen on the Colgate penguin shown here... new mascot @colgateraiders !? #colgatescua #colgate200 #colgateuniversity #archivesofinstagram #universityarchives #sideeye (at Colgate University) https://www.instagram.com/p/BwIEGuzBWJH/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=1pxxemllr3w8x
