Merry Christmas folks! I hope you're able to celebrate whatever holiday you choose in whatever way feels most meaningful to you. Holiday commissions are always some of my favorite work; I love knowing that I get to contribute to someone showing love to another person! It's also a deep honor to be entrusted with something as crucial as a gift. I got to make this piece for a classmate, and it's a been a lovely break from the stress of exams. Also fun to get the hang of some half-hard silver wire, a pretty new material for me. Tricameo bangle - sterling silver wire, fine silver wire, silver bead, lapis lazuli.

Happy Friday folks, long time no see! There's been a lot going on recently- moving, finishing up my full time job, prepping for a year long move to China and graduate school - but I've been able to make a couple of things in spare moments.  I whipped this cocktail ring out for my grandmother's birthday two weeks ago. She's very stylish and loves amethyst jewelry, so I was really glad to complete this one for her!  Kiteloop Cocktail Ring - sterling silver wire, fine silver wire, silver beads, amethyst.

So, turns out an old braiding technique I learned in Scouts is totally possible in wire! Exploring that this week, in an otherwise busy time. Isn't it grand when an old skill comes back around?

Happy Wednesday folks! I finished up the chain for the necklace using a fun technique - two wires are twisted around each other and hammered out, then stronger straight wires make the border. I'm interested in expanding this pattern for another necklace, I think.
