jess takes it upon herself to answer this one,  thoroughly ignoring any fourth wall that might exist within a realm where everything’s made up and the points don’t matter.

THE LONG SUFFERING CARL    (    owner of his favorite, and free, hot dog stand   )    seems pleased that someone else is the target of Spider-man’s particular feelings on the matter, if not a little exhausted by the subject.    “    You don’t put ketchup on hot dogs? You’re one of those people that doesn’t?    ”  

Like stopping tourists from eating pizza with a fork, if there is one thing he was put on earth to do it is share food expertise.    (    Saving people a distant second, at least at the moment.   )    

His mask rolled up just beyond the tip of his nose, Peter finds comfort in being able to display passion in the twitch of his mouth.    “    That’s like the fundamental condiment upon all hotdogs are built! You need a base before you do anything else with it, I would expect someone who has seen the whole galaxy would know that much.   ”

Sitting with her probably wasn’t the best idea --- but it sure as hell couldn’t HURT at this point either, right? Someone was quick to come ‘round with a second glass of water, but she was a lot more interesting than any glass. “Let’s start from here at this table and work our way back.” A pause. “It’s good to see you.” 

                 The voice doesn’t register RIGHT away–– she can blame the lack of sleep for that–– so when she drags her eyes away from the monitor on her desk her expression might be a bit SHARPER than she’d intended it to be. Eyebrows are knitted toward the center of her face, lips immediately curled around a retort to the statement that she tables once she realizes the TRUTH that’s woven in and around the stale, hours-old cup of coffee on the desktop and the takeout container in the trash from YESTERDAY. Maria drags a hand across her brow, smoothing it, allowing a shred of HUMOR to shine through.
