Filter perfomance by K&N
Air filters from K&N are not as restrictive as traditional air filters. They allow more air flow through the engine. This leads to an improvement in performance. When you change from a traditional air filter to a K&N filter it’s estimated that horsepower increases by 4 percent. This makes it even possible to increase fuel mileage.
Water and Cold Air Intakes
Using cold air intakes has its restrictions. One must make sure that the intake tube does not run low to the road. If it runs low, rain or water can be sucked into the intake or the engine. This could cause breakage to the engine or bending of rods. This is because water is not compressible. Installing a cold air intake like K&N ensures your car increases in performance but one should take care not to let it get damaged by water.
Benefits of cold air intakes
The benefits of using cold air intakes are that the car gets better gas mileage, more horsepower and better throttle response. The cold air intakes can use reusable filters while factory intakes only use paper filters that need replacement after every 15,000 miles. Some of the types of cold air intakes include Injen, K&N and Volant.
