#cold tropics

Color is probably one of my biggest obsession. As a pattern designer, it happily fills most of my days. Wether it’s a piece of fabric pinned on my office moodboard, an inky color palette left on my desk or some color schemes composed for the next season, color is everywhere around me. I create dozens of moodboards for inspiration, sometimes for specific projects, but also just for fun, to ‘feed my eye’. I thought that it would be fun to share some of them with you so that you could use it as creative tools for your own projects. The first palette of the series is titled ‘cold tropics’ and was inspired by Pippa Lynn’s Lip pattern and Lulu de Kwiatowsky’s Juniper painting. It’s a kind of nocturne tropical theme, a cooler and darker version of the exotic and bright jungle trend we saw last summer. The palette is composed of a deep inky blue tone combined with bright accents (pure color or pastels) of green, cyan, white, bluish pink and purple. I love the ‘arty’ treatment of the above images, the energy of brushstrokes and  the matt and thick aspect of the painting.
