A cold start Wednesday
It is very cloudy day here but I captured a little sunrise color today. My brother is still here so I donât know what is on the agenda today. He hasnât been around here for a bunch of years since moving up north so maybe weâll cruise around and look at stuff. đ
We might be bumming around but we wonât be walking around, itâs only 16F degrees (-8C) outside đĽś

So this morning I spotted something I didn't expect to see on such a cold February day. A first opened primrose flower.
It was too far to snap a picture, but I thought to myself: if there are primroses here, there might be crocuses in the forest.
I waited until afternoon, hoping weather would pick up, and then I went to the forest to forage for chickweed. And I found them. The first crocuses:
It's so cold and cloudy they wouldn't open but they're here! I found 8 in total in the forest. Spring is coming!
