Neon Lights
written for the extra first's day of the kbhp
summary: basically the first time sebastian takes kurt to a gay club in NYC. enjoy!
They've been dating for a week, two days, and about twenty hours. Give or take a few. Not that Sebastian's been keeping count. He just remembers dates and times well, that's all.
At least that's what he tells himself.
He's just really new to this boyfriend thing so he makes sure to keep up with it just in case Kurt decides to grill him about it or if he has to answer some sort of question in the future.
Get a hold of yourself, for fuck's sake, Smythe. You're losing it.
They've done all the cute, boyfriend-y things. Dates and dinners and kisses. Lots and lots of those because those are Sebastian's favorite part.
But Sebastian wants to do something different.
And that's why he sends Kurt a text during class that says, Clear all your plans for the night. We're going out. Xo.

Kurt gets back to his apartment after school, dropping his bag and extra things in his room when there's a knock on the door.
He hurries to open it, quickly fixing his hair because he already knows who it is, and smiles when he sees Sebastian on the other side.
"Oh, hey. Wasn't expecting to see you today or anything," he starts, smirking before Sebastian pushes in close, wrapping an arm around Kurt's waist, kissing him.
"Missed you," Sebastian murmurs, pressing a kiss to his jaw before he backs off, walking into the apartment like it's his own.
After he collects himself, Kurt follows him, going to the kitchen to grab a bottle of water. "You want anything to eat before you snatch me away to who knows where for the night? I'm still against the idea of you not giving me any clues..."
Sebastian just grins over at him from where he's sprawled out on the couch. "I already told you, you're not getting it out of me," he says, stretching his arms over his head, knowing Kurt's staring. "But to answer your first question that was actually a question, I'm good."
Kurt huffs, shutting the refrigerator door with more force than needed and walks over to shove at Sebastian's legs so he can sit down.
"You're seriously not gonna tell me?" He asks, making the best pout face he knows how.
But Sebastian simply shakes his head, grinning softly as he sits up and kisses Kurt until he's smiling again.

They end up at a bar. A club, as Sebastian had corrected him on the cab ride over after he'd ended up guessing it.
Apparently Sebastian has connections because they end up skipping the line outside and around the building, but when Kurt questions it, Sebastian just shrugs and mutters something about "a friend".
The lights are moving all over, in different patterns with the music that's pounding that makes it almost impossible to hear anything as soon as they get into the main building. Moving towards the bar on the outskirts of the floor, he tugs Kurt closer and yells something at the bartender.
"I got you your favorite, hope that's okay..?" He makes it sound like a question, still not sure how this all works, but it's what he used to do for his hook-ups and that always worked, so he goes with it.
Kurt just nods, looking around at all of the people, dancing and moving together on the floor.
They get their drinks and Kurt all but chugs his, leaving Sebastian openly staring at him. Kurt grabs his arm, grinning and tugging as soon as Sebastian's own is emptied, "C'mon, I wanna dance."
They somehow end up in the middle of the floor, Kurt's arms thrown over Sebastian's shoulders and their legs tangled between them.
Kurt grins, not having had enough to drink to be even remotely buzzed but he moves with Sebastian, languidly grinding against him with the music. He bends his knees, pushing closer to Sebastian, mouthing lightly at his jaw and hums.
"This was a good idea, 'Bas."
Sebastian nods, tightening his hold on Kurt's hips as he glances around, catching more than a few of the other guys there staring. He grins, lifting a hand to turn Kurt's chin up, kissing him quick and hard.
He breaks it, leaning over to murmur in Kurt's ear, loud enough to only he can ear, "People are staring, babe."
"I know, I can see that... Isn't that what you want?"
That makes Sebastian pull back, frowning slightly, but Kurt's grinning. Kurt slides his own hand down, placing his palm on Sebastian's chest to push him away slightly.
"Now go dance with all the love-struck boys in here who think they might have a chance with you and then come back to me."

Kurt nurses a few more drinks at the bar, dances with a few of the men who come up to him and timidly ask for them, even dances by himself for a few songs before he finds Sebastian again. Who is currently dancing with some guy who is definitely too hands-y for Kurt's liking.
He knows he shouldn't get jealous. Sebastian brought him here and Kurt's the one who sent Sebastian away, but he can't help it.
He slips through the throng of people, music pounding in his ears and he taps the stranger on the shoulder, yelling over the noise. "My turn. Move."
The guy gives him a confused look and he keeps his head turned to stare at the man as he leaves them alone, even as Sebastian grabs him by the waist to pull them together.
"He's not coming back over here, babe. You can tone down the possessiveness even though it's definitely hot." He looks at Sebastian then who's smirking, his forehead sweaty and his hair a mess as he drags them to the far wall where it's practically empty.
Sebastian turns them, crowding Kurt up against the wall and immediately kisses him. Kurt moans, hands flying up to hold Sebastian's face, pushing his fingers into his hair, messing it up even more than it already is.
He breaks it, breathing heavy as he tips his head back against the wall, giving Sebastian permission to his neck and he pulls at Sebastian's shirt.
"Not here, 'Bas. People are- they're watching."
"Let them," Sebastian growls, sliding one of his hands down to Kurt's hip and then behind, squeezing his ass. It makes Kurt yelp and push him back slightly, getting a hand between them and flat against Sebastian's chest.
"Not. Here." Kurt says, fixing him with a hard look.
Sebastian sighs and backs off, moving to turn toward the floor again but Kurt tugs him back by his arm.
"Not here doesn't mean stop. It means we're going home."
He grins at the look on Sebastian's face and drags him outside to go just there.
