You're not learning to code. You're collecting comfort videos.
Let's call it what it actually is. Tutorial hell isn't a phase. It's a coping mechanism.
Every time you click "Next Video" instead of opening your code editor, you are choosing the feeling of learning over the discomfort of learning. Actual learning feels like being stupid for three hours straight. It feels like staring at a red error message and wanting to throw your laptop. Tutorials feel like a warm blanket. That warmth is fake progress.
Your brain releases the same dopamine from completing a tutorial as it does from solving a real problem. But only one of those activities builds a neural pathway you can access later. The other builds a dependency on someone else's thinking.
The fix is humiliatingly simple. Pick a project so small it embarrasses you. A to-do list with only add and delete. A calculator that only does addition. Build it without a video. Suffer through it. The suffering is the point. The suffering means the information is sticking.
You are not stuck because you lack intelligence. You are stuck because you have confused consumption with creation. Close YouTube. Open the terminal. Fail loudly.
