So here it the answer.

How Ghost would realistically argue with his wife

1. Wife isn't mature at the moment

If the wife isn't capable of holding a discussion calmly and she gets emotional, Ghost would shut down and immediately tell her "I'm not having this discussion until you calm down". And will outright just leave.

(Also I secretly detached from him cause he died oop-)

But I keep remembering that funny note a follower left where they said "Soap is seen as a dumbass who only thinks about sex" and I am HOWLING.

Do people really see him like that? Like yes, he is more friendly but because he is a Scottish sergeant whose leadership is about getting commrades to stick together. Ghost makes him seem like a goofball because Ghost is so serious instead.

Funny, Ghost is an INTJ, and Soap is an ESFP, which are completely opposites, and this makes their personalities stand out a lot when they interact.

But if you put Soap next to Gaz, you'd actually notice he is a pretty darn serious person himself and is very intelligent and capable of leading small teams.

Soap is a SAS operator. That is not a menial thing. It takes discipline and very, very harsh training to get there.

Anyway, just putting my two cents out there ✌️

I think he was a stereotypical Russian husband, but with the military and FSB edge. This means that he took his role as a protector and provider very seriously. I can totally see him not allowing his wife to ever pay for anything because in Russian culture that is the man's job.

Overall he was a guy who held back a lot emotionally, probably kept a few secrets from his wife (again, ex military and FSB agent later).

I am not sure if he had kids. I think even with a wife, young Russian couples don't have kids that early nowadays. He'd likely have wanted one after he became more successful at his job and could afford to raise a kid completely with one salary. So he and his wife would have waited.

But alas, the traumatic event happened and that definitely strained the relationship. I think Nikto for sure struggled with flashes of PTSD, aggression, becoming extremely cold and secretive (even more than before) and thinking only about revenge.

I think his wife tried to help, but he completely blocked her out of his life, partially due to not having the mental energy, partially because he thought he has made so many enemies, this would have kept her safe.

I give them a very short marriage after the trauma before divorce. It wouldn't have been merely the wives decision, but one sped up because Nikto forced it out of her by behaving cold, unpredictable, and joining PMCs which are really dangerous.

I am not talking about the canon where he is one. But about the psychology behind becoming one vs Ghost as an individual.

I have stated in previous blogs what his life would be like. From him entering the military, to the traumatic event, to joining SAS.

Realistically, NCO's are always more wanted in the army than officers. Just as König would have remained a Sergeant, Ghost would likely have chosen to remain as one because... why bother going through officer training at the academy? That is extra work on top of his busy schedule.

He is also an INTJ which, even though he has Ni-Te, cognitive functions that make him capable of leading, his traumatic past, high introversion and the walls he has built around himself would make him reluctant to want higher leadership roles.

Besides, he has a moral code where he wants to be helpful and not sit in a desk all the time.

Real world Lieutenants do more power point presentations than actually go to war.

Imagine having your family killed by these gangsters because of your stupid brother. What do you think, wouldn't he have developed a type of hero complex? Wouldn't he want to serve justice by his own hands?

Plus, becoming a SAS officer is extremely difficult. Ghost would need to go through extremely selective programs to reach there.

So his logic would be I can actually help more people by doing the dirty work than staying cooped up in an office. He is a pragmatic and efficient man, after all.

Just think about it.

Lieutenant Ghost? He mostly does paperwork and stays in his office.

Sergeant Ghost? He actually fights.

Realistic Nikto: The Man Behind The Mask

Let's talk about the elephant in the room: Nikto is fucked up and there is no changing that.

First of all, let's go back and make you a little depressed. Russian military is borderline abusive. Many soldiers are trained under harsh circumstances, where they try to break them down physically and psychologically. To make it worse, they are treated as replacable, all while being manipulated to stay patriotic and protect the country.

It makes it easier to feel a sense of duty when your own language calls your country Rodina, - the Motherland.

Now, why do I bring this up? Because Nikto became a field FSB operator, which statistically shows is something ex-military do. Usually, there are multiple paths to becoming an FSB agent, either academia, the military, or nepotism.

Academia recruits work mostly on intelligence/desk, meanwhile Nikto is a field operative, so this tracks.

I think Nikto joined the FSB due to the prestige and security you can get. The FSB are highly respected, and since he is an INTJ, he would think long term about his future and stability.

The FSB are basically the Russian FBI/CIA. They are notorious for their deep sense of patriotism and working for the government. His ex-military wiring (where they drilled protect the Motherland into his psyche) also helped with reinforcing this path.

He is more analytical and pragmatic than people give him credit for, so he easily could have analyzed this path to simply be efficient, rather than true patriotism.

But it still doesn't mean that he won't feel betrayed when he gets tortured by Zakhaev. His loyalty was transactional and logical, so when his loyalty is broken, the only logical response is to withdraw it entirely.

Sadly, what happened to him wasn’t something he could out-think or strategize away; the damage went deeper than logic. Intelligent as he is, the human psyche is more fragile than all of us like to admit.

And yet, his ability to continue working is a strong indicator that Nikto is not just broken. He's insanely sane.

PMCs (military companies that do the government work that mustn't be put on paper) are the next natural route for him. They offer him financial stability, continuous work, and a way to unleashe his trauma.

PMC's don't deploy like normal military structures. They can easily keep Nikto at war for 9-11 months a year. And the thing is, Nikto chooses this. His INTJ wiring turns coping into self-sabotage and self-sabotage into workaholism.

His Introverted Intuition (Ni) makes him obsessed with long-term revenge. And his Extroverted Thinking (Te) keeps him in check so he doesn't just spiral.

Nikto is not just a veteran with PTSD and a tragic past. He is someone who chose this path, because he accepted his tragedy and turned it into a mission. And that is the most tragic part of all; he is still himself, but stuck inside an echo chamber of bloodlust.

(This was mentioned by Hudson to Adler in the cinematic cutscene that happened after the mission Redlight, Greenlight)

Not sure if I am still making sense here in this part but yea that's also one thing I kind of thought base on your analysis.

The multiple times that Bell fails to get what Adler wants through the Red Door and how frustrated he gets—it’s definitely a possibility.

Adler just wants to get to Perseus, who’s been slippery to Adler’s irritation. It can explained how harsh Adler can be with his lines to Bell in the Break on Through mission. And to be fair, Mason did warn us before the Cuba mission about how pissy Adler was gonna be.

He freakin put a needle into our eye multiple times and said some cruel things in the Break on Through Mission so talk about no kidding.
