Instructions: Turn the oven on to 350 degrees Fahrenheit 175 degrees Celsius and line a 9 by 9-inch 23 by 23 cm baking pan with parchment paper. Beat the butter and chocolate chips together in a bowl that is safe to microwave. Heat in the microwave for 30 second bursts, stirring in between, until the butter and chocolate are smooth and melted. Combine the sweetened condensed milk, vanilla extract, and shredded coconut in a separate mixing bowl and stir until thoroughly mixed. Now is the time to fold the nuts, if using, into the mixture. Evenly distribute half of the melted chocolate mixture into the bottom of the pan that has been prepared. Press the coconut mixture firmly to create an even layer on top of the chocolate layer. Evenly cover the coconut layer with the remaining melted chocolate by pouring it over it. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown, in a preheated oven. Take it out of the oven and allow it to cool fully in the pan. To set the chocolate, place the cooled coconut chocolate bars in the refrigerator for approximately two hours. Once they solidify, take them out of the refrigerator, remove the parchment paper, and cut them into squares or bars. Savor the Coconut Chocolate Bars you made at home!
