Metalizing wire- best choice for metal spraying
Metalizing wire is manufactured as per various standards such as US Navy, AWS and industry. Metalizing is a technique of coating metal on the surface of non-metallic objects as these objects are poor electrical conductors and surface of the object must be made conductive before performing the plating.
Metallization techniques started during mirror making and in 1835, Justus von Liebig discovered the process of coating a glass surface with metallic silver making glass mirror one of the earliest items being metalized. Plating other non-metallic objects grew quickly with the introduction of ABS plastic. The plastic part is etched chemically using an appropriate process such as dipping in a hot chromic acid-sulfuric acid mixture. Sensitization and activation of the etched surface is done by dipping in tin (II) chloride solution and then palladium chloride solution. Coating is performed on the processed surface using electroless nickel or copper before further plating. This process provides useful adhesion force (of about 10 to 60 N/cm or 1 to 6 kgf/cm or 5 to 35 lbf/in) but is weaker than actual metal-to-metal adhesion strength.
Vacuum metalizing is a process of heating the coating metal to its boiling point in a vacuum chamber and then depositing the metal on the substrate’s surface using condensation. Coating metal is vaporized using electron beam, plasma heating or resistance heating. Aluminum was deposited on big glass mirrors of reflecting telescopes such as Hale telescope using the vacuum metalizing.
Thermal spray processes are referred to as metalizing and various types of metalizing services are available such as
· Thermal spray powders and wires
· Plasma spray powders and wires
Metalizing wire is available in various materials. These products are produced in compliance to set industry standards and using premium quality raw materials. Metalizing wire is also available in different specifications and is durable, has robust construction and excellent tensile strength. A metalizing wire is manufactured from superior quality and pure material through casting and rolling process. This product is available in different sizes of range (9.50mm to 1.6mm) with the tolerance of +0.00mm and -0.05mm. Aluminum metalizing wire is mainly used for vapor metalizing and metal spraying.
Metalizing wire is used for spray metallization in anti-corrosion protection, capacitors and filming industry. Zinc metalizing wire is available in different sizes of range (Dia 4.00 mm to Dia 1.60 mm) with tolerance of +0.00 mm and -0.05 mm. This product is produced using superior quality zinc with purity up to 99.995% and as per required quality standards.
