i wanted a single post of all my stories from South By So What?! so this is gonna be that post (b/c honestly that fucking day was a ride man)

The $5 CD

so me and my friends are standing in line and this dude walks up holding CD’s. So he walks up to us and is like “hey whats up!” and we’re like “oh, just waiting, getting pumped” and we talk for a few minutes about bands and then Issues comes up and he tells us that his band sounds a lot like them and asked if we wanted to maybe hear what they sound like. So we’re like ye sure and he plays and theses guys are really good, like, hella good. So i’m like, dude i love it, omg, let me buy your CD. So he tells me its$5, but i remember i dont have any money on me right now. So i turn to my dad who is about 5 feet away and yell “dAD I NEED MONEY FOR A CD OF A BAND” and hes like “that was so specific” and just awkwardly hands me the money and everyone looked at me like i was crazy but i got my CD. The Jacket

So SBSW took place in late March, and i live in Texas, so it of course was cold and rainy, so obviously i wore a jacket. The jacket i was wearing i made myself. It was just a black jacket that i used white paint on to make cool designs and shit (it said “clothing doesnt equal consent”, it had an anarchy symbol, etc). I loved this jacket and it was super comfy. Well, after the CD guy left, these two dudes walk up to us and just say “hey, whats up!” and we just start talking about music and bands. Then someone comes up from behind me and goes “i love your jacket!” and i look back and its this hella cute guy and he like stands next to the other two guys so assume hes friends with them. I’m like thank you and he asks me about it and i tell him i made it myself and he just keeps complimenting it. Then, i told him i liked his hair and he said “no problem, i like your face.” and i legit squealed. Then they told us what bands we were excited to see (i obvs said fiatc) and then theyre like “oh well, we’re playing an acoustic set at 5, you should come see us.” and i’m like....you’re in band....and didnt tell me... i swuealed in front of you da fuq??? anyways, they give me hugs and then leave and i see the guitarist later and this was after i had bought my FIATC jacket, so i was just holding my other jacket. So i go up to him and say hi and hes like “omg hi!!” and we talk for a few minutes and i’m like “you know your friend who said he liekd my jacket?” “alex!” “yeah! could you...give this to him?” and i hand him my jacket and his eyes just go all wide and hes like “...really?” and im like ye sure of course and he just thanked me and hugged me so tight and told me that alex will really appreciate this and it made him just sosoosososos happy. The Patty Walters Incident 

this is def the thing that stands out most about this day. I have told this story many times, but i’m sure there are probably people that have never heard it so....I love As It Is a lot and i really love and look up to Patty. Well, after me and my friends and my dad alk in, we’re walking around trying to just find out where all the tents and stages are and then my friend hits my arm and goes “theres Patty!” and i’m like “OMFG WHERE” so i see him and we walk over and i’m looking at my feet because i am so damn nervous and then i look up and see that someone is dragging a bag in front of Patty and i can;t fucking move fast enough so i trIP AND FALL ONTO HIM AND HE LIKE SORTOF CATCHES ME AND KEEPS US BOTH UPRIGHT AND HES LIKE “you’re okay! you’re okay, come on, you’re okay!” AND HE HELPS ME GET MY BALANCE BACK and then after i get a hug and my picture and hes like “okay have a nice day!!” and i juST FUCKING BLURT OUT “I LOVE YOU” AND HES LIKE I LOVE YOU TOO!!’ AND I JUST.........i still cringe about that tbfh

The Pick

so you all know how much i love Frank and how much he means to me. Well, you have to understand, FIATC didn’t play until 5:15 and i was at his stage at 2. I got to the barricade and people pushed against me and my knees where bruises and i couldn’t feel my feet and it was cold and i was soaking wet. So, after franks set (which i cried through half of) they threw out their picks, But, for some reason, there was a huuuge photographer pit so most of them went in front of the barricade. And this one guard who had been there since i got there and who i offered him some water (he didnt take ut because he said i needed it more) picked up one of Franks so i was like reaching out like “GIMME GIMME GIMME” now there was this girl who was just overall being really rude. She had pushed her way to the front right when frank came out and she was pushing people and just overall being an ass. And she was reaching over me trying to grab this pick and i was like “HAHAH BITCH HELL NO” and he guard kind of looked at me and looked at her and he like shook his head at her and handed it to me and i was like “HA BITCH YOU THOUGHT” so yeah....i have franks pick

I Was Almost Killed By A Rockstar Can (#spon)

so after FIATC’s set, frank was throwing out these rockstar cans they had set out for the artists. and i was like “ye frank thats p nice and cool but those are full, giant, metal cans, you are going to kill someone. But of course i still wanted one so i threw my hands up and yelled frankie as loud as i could and he looked right at me, threw it, and it went above my head, almost hitting me (it only missed  by like an inch) and he kind of made this “oh god” face then gave me an apologetic smile and i was like “frank iero almost killed me nice”

You’re Famous?

so you all know i’m not that big of a fan of Sleeping With Sirens (like i only know Kellin and i dont even listen to them) well, apparently, Jessy Lawson (i think thats how u spell it??) was playing there but i had no idea b/c i dont know anything about him. So, i was buying a drink and once i got it i turned around and this dude was right behind me and i got startled and dropped it ad it spilled all over his shoes and i was like “oh mY GOD I AM SO SORRY” and i felt so bad but he was like “its fine!! they’re just shoes!!’ but i still felt really bad so i apologized again and he said it was fine and then he asked me who i was excited to see (ofc i said FIATC) and he was like “oh, well thats fun! I’m playing the same stage as them! I guess I’ll see you there then.” and then he just smiled, waved, and walked off and i was like “what??? you ??? huh ??” and my friend was looking at me funny so i was like “hey, who was that?” and she was like “that was Jessy.” “who??” “the dude that used to be in SWS.” “really??” “yep you just spilled sodaon someone who used to be bff’s with Kellin Quinn” and i said good so that sums up my “love for sws”
