Introducing cARTel: Collaborative Arts LA

We are cARTel. We’re on a mission to connect Angelenos to unique experiences throughout the city. We believe that great events build great communities. We throw some big happenings here in Los Angeles- indie music fest BROKECHELLA,  the No Budget Film Festival, and our annual Art | Party | Playground (Check out previous events GALAXY and FORT.)

The Project

We’re bringing together Angelenos of every kind to make something HUGE.. Imagine being able to explore a world where larger than life, dream-like creatures roam. Imagine being able to dig through a tar pit or cracking open dinosaur egg for treasures. Imagine being able to hear/smell/touch/and PLAY in this space with all of your friends- all for a great cause.

That’s what Art | Playground | Party is-  a revolutionary interactive space that merges art, community, and DINOSAURS.  

We’ve partnered with the folks at CoachArt to enrich the lives of Angeleno children. The non-profit provides arts education to chronically ill kids and their siblings.

We spent a day with CoachArt’s kids drawing dinosaurs and now 15 artists will bring their creatures to life in a massive interactive art party at ANGEL CITY BREWERY, in the heart of downtown LA.

Though the party will be 21 and over, we will be doing a special, one of a kind tour earlier in the day for the kids, families, and volunteers at CoachArt.

Why It’s Important

This is our first crowd campaign in our four-year history.  Why did we decide to do this now? This project is bigger than just having a good time and throwing a great party. We want our artists to have every resource available to create their dream project and to spare no details in bringing these kid’s imaginations to life. We’re helping artists realize their potential, and by extension adding to the cultural fiber of Los Angeles.

So this holiday season, give the gift of anything-is-possible. Help us add some color to Los Angeles and the lives of some extraordinary Angeleno kids and artists.
