hello! your custom skill tokens project looks amazing! I had some questions though while reading your description: if I want to play with your custom skills, would I have to use all of them, or would it be a "pick and choose" situation where I can get only the custom skills I really want? I'm asking because that would be a lot of OBJDs to add to a game that's already pushing up against the object limit.
I was also wondering why you put for example photography in the mechanical category. wouldn't it make more sense in the creativity category? (same also applies to stuff like stoneworking/woodworking, but that makes a little more sense to me in the mechanical category than photography.) sure, there is some technical know-how to being a good photographer, but without the necessary artistry/creativity and the right "eye" for aesthetics, you won't be a good photographer, no matter how many expensive lensens and other doodads you have.
on the other hand, I don't quite get why skin care is under creativity? cleaning would make more sense to me, since barbering falls under cleaning as well. stylists usually do both hair styling and skin stuff/make up, so they kind of belong together imo.
not meant as criticism, just some thoughts I had while reading your post. very excited to see where this is going!
Good Morning,
Thanks for all the great feedback - its helpful! You'll only need to add the skill tokens needed for whatever mod, career, etc. you add to your game (coming soon!).
Photography was a tricky one because the word is used to name the process (which requires devices/machinery/tools) and the product (artwork/pictures, etc.) - it really belongs in BOTH creativity/mechanical. The skill book mod for that will likely build both.
I put it in mechanical because I think the skilling part, at least for this mod, is more related to learning how to manipulate the tools themselves to bring your photographic vision to life. We already have a creativity skill and the photographer's eye trait, so the artistic part is kind of covered.
I agree with the skin care note - that was originally under cleaning. I meant to move that back but must've forgotten. I'll update that. Thanks!
