I GOT A JOB
I have accepted a 1st-grade position at my dream school (aka the school I went to as a child)! I will be a co-teacher and the classroom is going to have flexible seating. Any advice or tips for co-teaching and flexible seating are appreciated. Iām so excited to start this new co-teaching model at my school and just the overall opportunity to be back at the school that ignited my passion for teaching.Ā

In this instance of co-teaching, the content area teacher and the ESOL teacher teach how life was in the tenements. The ESOL teacher breaks down the complex structure of the text- also known as 'juicy sentences'- by inviting students to share what the sentences mean (using their own words).

I made a post a few weeks ago about a lesson that I did that went surprisingly well. It was called The Oscars lesson. The activity is essentially just āwrite a dialogā but disguised as āweāre all going to the Oscars next week and you have to present a script.ā And it worked shockingly well.
