Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Daryl wasnāt a very emotional person, at least not where anyone would see anyway, but there was something about seeing Carl so upset tugged at the sensitive parts of his heart. So he moved over to the other, shifting so he could pull him carefully into a tight hug. Wanting to make him feel better without words, not like he could think of anything to say anyway. A beat passes as he still hold onto him before he leans in and pressed an almost awkward kiss to the top of his head.

Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā instead of going OUT to read comics, like they normally do, enid and carl decided to actually stay in alexandria this time. theyāve been curled up together in carlās room for the past couple hours. the silence between them isnāt at all UNCOMFORTABLE - if anything, itās quite nice. there will be the occasional sound, of courseā¦the rustle of the comics as they turn pages, or the soft laugh of one of them as they read something amusing. and itās the fact that they donāt HAVE to talk that reminds enid why she likes hanging out with carl so much.Ā
Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā she doesnāt really know how it happened. carl had shifted himself so he could lay down, and somehow he ended up with his head in enidās lap. which, honestly? sheās more than okay with. she simply smiles down at him fondly and goes back to her reading. after a while, however, she hears his breathing S L O W and, upon looking up, notices that carlās comic is sliding out of his hand. her eyes flicker to his features, and she almost laughs when she realizes that heās fast asleep. she tilts her head just a little, examining the peaceful look on his features.Ā
Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā itās so rare to see him looking so at ease. and honestly, he looks absolutely ADORABLE, asleep so soundly, and so, instead of trying to wake him, she gently puts aside his comic and, lowering hers momentarily, she reaches out a hand to delicatelyĀ brush her fingers through his hair. sheās unsure of whether she imagines it or not, but sheās sure that he leans into the touch, even though heās clearly dead to the world ( not literally, thank god ).Ā
Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā āsleep well, grimes.ā
Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā and she goes back to reading like nothingās happened, like she hasnāt got carlĀ ātough guyā grimes fast asleep on her. sheāll probably find some way to tease him about it later, but for now, she just sits there, content.Ā
