As the clock struck ten thirty, all who were at the grounds gathered by the lake for the highlight of the evening – the Fourth of July Fireworks. Cloverbrook had always tried to go all out on the Fourth of July, one of the few times of the year that they invested in fireworks, courtesy of the richer families in town. But this year was a first, to hold Fourth celebrations at the lake, and it seemed to be the right choice, surrounded by clear, still water and the lush greenery of Crystal Falls. The sound of happy laughter was ringing in the air, the atmosphere thrumming with excitement as kids and adults alike waited with anticipation. All were dress in red, white and blue, some happily tipsy as the hours went by, and most were just trying to find the perfect spot to watch the festivities. Picnic blankets laid out on the grassy knoll, and the tall, wooden bleachers set up for better vantage point were filled to the brim as people started finding their seats, snacks and beers in hand, waiting for the show to start.

The lakeground lights dimmed, a faint orange glow illuminating all that were there as the announcer on the microphone began counting down. “Ten, nine, eight..” The crowd chanted with happy smiles, all eyes turned towards the water.
What was suppose to be a beautiful display of lights in the sky as the chanting finished at ‘one’, as suddenly, instead of shooting upwards, darts of fire were aimed into the crowd. Screams of panic filled the air, everyone scrambling out of the way to get out as soon as possible, a terrified stampede heading away from the lake. The fireworks were unstoppable at this point, hitting the wooden bleachers and sending it collapsing into the ground, set afire as the cries of help from those injured were heard. Pieces of shrapnel were sent flying and the unlucky were hit, laying on the ground, bleeding.
A panicked, booming voice came over the loudspeaker, but it was too late. The music had abruptly stopped, the atmosphere turned sour, filled with confusion and hysteria as now Fourth of July in Cloverbrook was nothing like what it was supposed to be.

Everyone is impacted! If your character is not injured, they would most likely be there as it all went down and trying to get out. You are welcome to think creatively around this for your character, but please run major plots by us as usual.

As the sun sets over Crystal Falls lake, we would like to draw everyone’s attention to the main stage! That’s right, Wade Patterson from Platinum Fist will be introducing our next few musical guests that are ready to showcase their talents. First up, we have Nic Andretta followed by everyone’s favorite radio host, Kasiya Sheppard, so kick back, relax and enjoy some good tunes. The dancefloor is ready and waiting for those in the mood for a little boogieing!
Food and most drink stalls are now semi-closed so hopefully you’ve packed some snacks! A huge thank you to the staff of La Ciudad, The Beach Bar and Golden Boy for their services this evening and enjoy the rest of your night. Alcohol will still be sold on premises.
The lake is now CLOSED and barred off for the evening, with security detail standing by, so please be warned not to sneak in after hours.
Alright, Cloverbrookians, we hope the afternoon has been going by splendidly! More and more people have gathered since the celebrations have kicked off so everyone, please be patient while finding parking, it’s a little bit of a nightmare out there! As well, the lines for food and drink stalls have been backed up so for those waiting on delicious tacos and beers, it might be a half an hour to an hour wait as our chefs and waiters are working as fast as they can to serve you.
While waiting, our second movie of the night will be playing on the big screen, and all carnival tents are still open! It’s still bright and sunny on this gorgeous Fourth afternoon, so we have just a little more time left if anyone wants to squeeze in some fun on the lake. Waterskis and kayaks are still available for rent and just a general notice that the lake will be barred off towards the end of the night.

Cloverbrook’s Independence Day Celebrations - July 4th, 2015
Every year, across the States, all hearts of Americans beat red, white and blue as they celebrate freedom, liberty and justice. Cloverbrook is no different, as residents gather by the lake at Crystal Falls, with a town-wide party to celebrate and a fireworks show at the end of the night. The field and lakeside will be fenced for what the mayor and his team has planned, so come along, pack a picnic, watch the show and get ready for Independence Day.
Event information:
Everything will begin from 4pm onwards on July 4th!
Dress code is red, white or blue! We would love to see what everyone wears so feel free to post them on the dash. Don’t forget to tag with #fourthfashion so everyone can see.
Barbecue pits will be set up by the lake, with choices of hamburgers and hot dogs.
There will be kayaks and waterskis for rent by the lake.
An open air cinema will feature family-fun movies such as Mary Poppins and Honey I Shrunk the Kid.
Live music will begin at 8pm!
There will be a carnival tent with amusement games, a petting zoo and rides.
Please bring picnic blankets, lawn chairs and snacks.

Police and emergency medical teams will be on standby.
Volunteers are needed to help organize the event! If any residents have great organizational skills, logistical planning or first aid training, please contact the mayor’s office. (OOC: please message the main if this applies to your character.)

The day will be a public holiday for everyone, so all businesses will be shut for the day, and everyone is expected to attend.

Here are the plots for our event this weekend! We tried our best to write interesting ideas that will hopefully drive development and a bit of drama around here. The bonfire commences at 6pm EST, Friday night! Gameplay will go on for two days until Sunday, however everything that happens during the bonfire will be regarded as something that happens on Friday evening. Amelia Harper meets an old friend from high school who drags her into a giant game of drunk Twister despite her protests, and somehow ends in up a rather awkward position with one Felix Sinclair..
Disaster strikes as Nico Alvarado is faced with his equipment breaking down and the lines for his stall getting longer and longer by the minute. With most of his staff busy, Brooklyn Monroe offers to help Nico appease the lines and fix his equipment.
Great Earth Cafe has kindly sponsored free punch all throughout the night -- virgin, of course. There are underagers the event! But alcohol makes everything fun, right? Or so Tyler Mitchell thought, when she roped Xiao Lu in to spike the punch bowl, not knowing that a police officer is closely watching the pair. Will they get caught in the act?
The Jaguar chant is something that is all too familiar for Oscar Jordan, but once a few team members spot him from afar, they make it their mission to remind him how washed up Oscar is, which results in a fight almost breaking out before Cameron Young intercedes.
Lucia Andretta decides to take her dog out to the bonfire for a relaxed evening, but in the crowd manages to lose his leash. Unable to find him, she sees Owen Byrd standing by the Beach Club stall and asks him for help.
With a drink in hand, Stephanie Hawkes quietly observes the celebrations around her, before turning a corner, startled by the appearance of none other than Sally Redmayne. Surprised, Stephanie accidentally spills her drink all over Sally's new purchase - an expensive dress all the way from Paris.
The frisbee game promises rewards of free movie tickets for the winning team, and both May Robinson and Ana Morales have signed up, finding themselves going head to head as they bring their competitive edge to be declared the winner.
While Calliope Grimshaw performs an acoustic set for the crowd, she leaves Diona in the care of RJ Everleigh. The girl is seemingly occupied with doodling on a drawing pad, but when RJ turns around, he is greeted with an empty chair. How will he break the news to Calliope, and where did Diona run off to?
It's no surprise that a night like tonight means drugs is easily accessable, and Kitty Summers just couldn't help the pull to get her next fix. While negotiating with a dealer, everything turns sour when he advances on her. Luckily, Harvey Silvey passes by just in time to stop him.
After sharing a few drinks on their nights off from work, Astrid Galloway and Jocelyn Markov bond over waitress woes before Jocelyn drunkenly suggests to go out into the ocean for a skinny dip. Will Astrid say yes?
Drunk and bored, Ronnie Rabinovich decides to joke around with the school mascot, making fun of the Jimmy the Jaguar, before he decides it'd be funny to chase the jaguar around the bonfire. Isobel Montoya-Lucia has to intervene, stopping Ronnie from further harassing her students.
While Gabriel Oliveira is on his break from manning the stall front, he teams up with his friend Nikola Ramsey on the dance floor and teaches him some samba moves, until the DJ spots them and drags them both up on stage.
Within the town
Opportunity strikes while everyone is down at the bonfire - a local group of misfits have planned out a series of small crimes, specifically targeting local companies:
La Ciudad - Luis Alvarado is down at the La Ciudad stall for the bonfire when he receives a call from a frantic Skye Ramirez, saying that the store has been broken into, the till has been ransacked, with almost all kitchen equipment destroyed.
The Sugar Jar Bakery - Raven Mackenzie has just entered the store when a person in a dark hoodie runs out with money stolen from the till, unbeknown to Parker Snyman who was busy in the kitchen. Curious, Raven investigates the empty till just as Parker emerges from the back, and who else is there to blame but the girl standing right in front of him?
The Amethyst Oddities Shoppe - Frankie Franco almost forgets something at the store and returns to find the windows shattered and the till emptied. Kiki Martello, who is closing up shop nearby sees the damage and comes to help Frankie.
Crystal Falls - Deciding to take a night off from work, Byron Chae is down by the Shore enjoying the bonfire before he receives a call to say that the construction site has been vandalized. Luckily, he was in the middle of a conversation with Jacob Wilde, who offers to go to the site to investigate.
East Cloverbrook
Before going to the bonfire, Michael Farrell has had one too many drinks but decided to drive down to the Shore anyway. Suddenly taking a wrong turn, his headlights shine upon a person, but Michael swerved just in time to not crash. He leaves his car to check on Robin Macpherson, but will the they handle the incident well, especially from a wealthy Crystal Falls man like Michael?
Savannah Kirby's car decides to give her trouble and after the engine splutters, it dies on the side of the road. With her phone out of charge, Savannah can only rely on passerby Ted Durrell for help.
Performing at the Blue Moon Pub on a Friday night, Nico Andretta finishes his set to be greeted by Wade Patterson, who comes up to admire the young man's talent, and offers to buy Nico a drink. After a few drinks and good conversation, they realize they know a person in common - Jocelyn Markov. The conversation soon turns sour when Wade makes a few lewd comments and Nico's blood begins to boil.
