He'd done enough small talk with her to feel like this was a good time to askâlay it out on the table, literally and figuratively. This was her third time coming over in the week so far, and it wasâhis gaze snapped to the calendarâonly Thursday. Not that he was complainingâhe loved her cooking and it saved him a trip to the bodegaâbut he couldn't help but pick on the possibility that she needed some company for something specific. He'd had a little bit of sensitivity training at the fire station but he wasn't sure it was enough to give an accurate temperature of Louise's mood. Better to ask.
