When Teddy took the role of Kree-Skrull emperor however long ago, some part of him didnât think it would be an enduring decision. Like his people would split themselves off just as quickly as they united. His leadership skills were never in question; the galaxy around him fostered the hesitancy. But the one thing he never lost confidence about was Billy.
It dawned on Teddy as he came up on ten years of leading the Empire that heâd been married to Billy just as long. That part he almost couldnât believe. He remembered when they were teenagers in the early days of their relationship, getting to know one another as friends before they became lovers. God, he felt old now. At least he had Billy to feel old with.
The good thing about being emperor was that it meant he could take little breaks throughout the day whenever he deemed fit, and nobody would question him, (Well, most people wouldnât question him. Lauri-Ell never stopped being an inquisitive one, bless her.) After an afternoon âdid they have afternoons in the middle of space?â spent taking audiences with various diplomats and ambassadors, Teddy decided to retire to his and Billyâs chambers for a brief respite. There he found a very pleasant surprise in the form of his lovely husband in the living area.
âYou didnât tell me you were gonna be here,â grins Teddy, pulling Billy into an adoring embrace from behind, kissing on his slender neck. Even after all these years, he still completely dwarfed his better half with that huge, muscled physique of his â though to his credit, Billy had recently put on some mass in his older age that the emperor found very appealing. âThought you had some superhero-ing to do on Earth... would have put off all my meetings today if I knew you were gonna be here, baby.â
