The candlelight glows over the darkness of the tent where Amy brought me in. She has been asking me…well, more like begging to read my cards again. It has been three years, she says as I gave in to her request. I waved goodbye to Tails and told him I'll be back to help after Amy is done. 

But here I am sitting across from her as she reshuffled her deck with more worry. Her face changed from confident to worried, the many times she read the cards and picked them up and shuffled. She's been at it for like an hour now. I felt uneasy the more she did it. “Ames,” I called out softly, mimicking Sonic's tone of voice as she stopped and looked at me, “You done?” I asked softly as she sighed and pulled out four cards and placed them face down on the table.

“Yeah, I…I just wanted to be thorough,” she answered while flipping one card up. 

The empress, reversed 

Amy looked at the card, “ok, the same one… again,” she muttered as I looked at her. “What does that mean, Ames?” I ask as she looks up at me. Her eyes showed fear, hesitation, and worry. “Ames,” I called out softly.

“The empress on reverse has many meanings, but for this, it's insecurity, like you cannot grow anymore,” she says, placing the card down. I grip my pants from under the table. Maybe it was a bad idea to let Amy read the cards. What if she finds out that I'm not him, I thought as I forced that sonic smile at Amy. “Ok, maybe I've been a bit down,” I say, sounding the best sonic confidence. She nodded with a smile in retire as she flipped the second card.

The hanged man, upright

Amy breathed heavily. “Sacrifice,” she says as her paw shakes a bit, “is this past? Present? Or future?” I ask sincerely as Amy looks at me, “future,” she says, pointing over the first card, “this is the present.. You have one past and three futures,” she added as I froze looking at the cards well “This card is.. is a bit bright like fire,” she commented while looking at ther other two “mabye we should stop here” amy suggested. 

No, I need to know my fate. I thought “No,” I say, looking at her. “I want to know more, and all the effort you put would go to waste. I don't want that ames” I say as she nodded and flipped the third card.

Death, upright

“Transformation,” Amy says, looking at the card well. “You will become someone new, not living in the shadows of the old,” she added. Me? Leaving sonic shadow and becoming someone new.. For myself? Would that be true…..No, that would never happen, I thought. “Change?” I say with a cocky smile, “The only change I hope is for Eggman to stop fighting us,” I say, trying to lighten up the mood. “Yeah, that would be a great change, Sonic,” she says with a soft smile. I stop holding my breath a bit. At least this mood got a bit brighter for now. Amy grabbed the last card and flipped it.

The fool, upright 

“Beginnings and freedom,” Amy says, “like you're free from everything and are allowed to be your own person.” She added, as I look at the card, “my own person,” I whisper. I lean away a bit to see all the cards.

Empress, hanged man, death, and the fool

Broken, sacrifice, transformation, and new beginnings. 

I look at them well. This doesn't sound like Sonic, I thought as I looked up at her. “What were my last cards like three years ago?” I ask as she looks at me, confused. Shit, did Sonic never ask about this in the past? I thought with a bit of panic. 

“Why do you want to know now?” she asks softly while she grabs the cards to put them away. “You know, just curious to know what they were like,” I say, hoping she takes the bait. Amy looks at the deck of cards on hand and opens them, and pulls four out. Placing them neatly on the table.

“Three years ago, you were the chariot for your ambitions, the sun for your optimism, strength for your confidence, and the star for your hope,” she says, flipping each card when she spoke “It's been that way since we were kids sonic but now” she look at me “Its like your path change and that worries me” she added. 

I bit the inside of my cheek thinking a bit fast, then an idea hit…I don't want to hurt her, but it's for the missing and Eggman's glory. “Didn't you say that you do this for fun, just for us friends, and seriously for your work?” I ask with a calm tone. Amy stops and thinks, “Yeah, I do, maybe work got me tired and I'm just misreading this,” Amy says as I felt all my anxiety wash away “Well why don't you” I got up from the chair and walked over to her “Go home and take a rest. Our week has been hell. Not only with eggman but your work” i grab her paws “you are mentally exchusted and i can see it” I added as she smiled at me.

“Yeah, you're right, Sonic,” she says as I grab her deck. “I'll put this away, just go home, I'll close the shop for you,” I say. “your the best, Sonic,” she says, kissing my cheek and leaving the tent to go home. I look down at the cards as I pull out the Fool card.

Week one: day 5 Destiny

This one took way too long to do. I never in my life seen/used tarot so it took me a while to find each one for my oc and sonic plus trying to make it sound good. It was hard but i did it! once again sorry for any typos. English wasn't my friend today once more.

Dr. Eggman holds me to the highest expectations of everyone else. Metal is there too when it comes to Eggman's approval, but me? I'm just a clone. Made to take sonic place. But I came out with many mistakes. Both Eggman and now the ex-Dr.Starline tries to fix these mistakes.

But it never worked, so I was left as a constant reminder of who I'm not. I'm a better Sonic. I'm better than him in everything. I'm faster, stronger, and yet I do not approve. Dr. Eggman's expectation. I've been pretending to be Sonic for four years.

Wasn't that good enough? I be friended everyone sonic knowns! I try to keep his quirky persona alive, and yet Dr. Eggman doesn't approve!

Is my quill and skin dye a shade darker? Are the eye contacts a different shade a green? I am not eating enough of Sonic's chilly dogs? Does my voice sound like his? Or does a bit high-pitched because of the wrong gender I have?

I can be Sonic! I can be him! I... I...I can be the man you need me to be! Do I need more experimental surgery? medication? I'll do anything to get your approval Dr. Eggman!?

Week one: day 3 Expectations

Meet the cloning project au. I swear I said I wasn't going to bring this au, but damn, the prompt fit so well. So yeah, another angst. I swear the past prompts are going to be all angst. But I'll try to light up by the next one, hopefully.

There is always something that 002 always forgets when coming back from a month of pretending to be Sonic. Back home in the eggman lab. I always forget Surge's favorite candy. She will yell at me, be mean for the whole night, because I forgot her Sour Patch Kids again. 

But I make it up to her like always with a super sour version of that candy. Oh, that smile my sister gives me after she eats it all. Kit would stay up past his bedtime just to greet me while Metal is in the shop getting fixed by another long fight he had with Shadow.

Surge would not admit it, but the small argument she always gives me when I enter back on the shared room after I scrub my quill off that damn blue dye color. It's her way of checking on me. Seeing if her sister is there and not Sonic. 

Now I sit down on the couch with a sleepy kit on my lap while Surge fixes my quills. It's moments like this that I like a-

“You forgot Kit's backpack,” Surge says as I groan and curse under my breath. 

“I had it on my paws," I say, angry as she shakes her head. “Yeah, I know, but you left it again. You know he loves his ds,” she added as I groan even more.

“I will never learn!” I groan more as she laughs now, “You are enjoying my misery, aren't you?” I ask as Surge smiles at me.

“Who can say” she says with that smirk as I blink and slap my quills over her face. She coughed from the sudden smell of my shampoo and quill dye. 

She slapped my arm as we both laughed a lot.

Week two: day 13 live & learn

The silent sobs were heard in these quiet cells. Sonic looks over to find the person Eggman replaced him with. Just there crying “eggman again?” he asks softly as they stop crying and look over a bit. Sonic waited for a response from the brown hedgehog. 

“Yeah,” they mutter softly while they wipe their tears. “How did you know?” they ask softly. It's so weird hearing my voice talk back to me, but sonic shock that thought away. He will ask later, for now he has to focus on this poor person, “because Eggman doesn't come over here in weeks,” he answered, “right” they mutter.

Sonic looks at them a bit well. Noticing the quills puff up from whatever happened to them, but if they are a clone of himself, then. Those are upset quills puff. “What happened?” he asked softly. “Eggman got mad that I didn't convince Rouge and Shadow yet that I'm you.” They answered while hugging themselves “I keep telling him that it takes time for me to gather every event that happened but he wont budge” they look up “‘That no excuse’ he would say ‘Your one goal is to fool everyone and your not doing a good job’ he would added as he gose on and on about everything i dont wrong” sonic notice that they hug themself more “then he would alway do his final blow. ‘This is why you are a 98.1% sonic clone zero two. You are full of mistakes that i can never fix’ he would say as i felt more guilty for not doing my part” they added.

Sonic looks at them. If it wasn't for this stupid glass, he could have seen them better, but at last, “Eggman always says that?” he asked, “all the time, at least he didn't throw the list this time,” they answered as their voice break. Sonic was taking a back a bit, “A list?” he asked once more. 

“The list of the reasons why I'm a 98.1% perfect sonic clone,” they answered once more as he saw their lip tremble as they fought back another wave of tears. He felt bad for them. He wasn't aware how much pressure they had to be like him. “He doesn't do this to anyone else, just me,” they added as tears ran down their face “Metal is a 99% sonic replica, except he's a robot. I can never envy my brother or Kit and surge. They dont get this pressuser just copy sonic and tails fighting stley. Nothing more is ask for them” they clean the tears running down from their face.

“But he doesn't get it,” they added as all the effort to stop the tear went to waste, as well he heard their voice crack more. No more hearing his own voice. However, it was a familiar one. One he hasn't heard in years, and it brought a wave of anxiety. “He doesn't get that every time I have to pretend to be Sonic, I have to get my mind set ready. I'm only home for a week, and instead of resting and being myself. I have to ask my sibling to continue calling me sonic and using he/him pronouns. It makes me sick. Make me hate my body even more, i feel so hollow,” they added, crying harder as Sonic looked at them. It was like looking in a mirror of his past.

“Do you hate when they call you him?” he asked softly. “Yes!” they answered. “But what can I do! I have to be Sonic the Hedgehog! I have to be him!” they added as they curled up, sobbing harder.  

Deja vu.

He looks away from them as he takes a deep breath. “I know that you know me as the Sonic the Hedgehog.” he looked over just a bit to find them a bit uncurl. “You heard my wildest stories, legends, and adventures, right?” he asks softly as they hum. The out the ball he thought, looking at them sitting down as they cried silently now. He took a deep breath. “But there's something in my past that I never talk about because I get impostor syndrome and body dysmorphia,” he says softly, “and looking at you just reminds me of that past,” he added with a smile, “before anything what did eggman alway tell you in that list” he ask finally wanting to know before he tell them a bit of that part just a small bit. He knows this can make or break them. This could give them a small push to break free from Eggman.

“He always says that my quills are the wrong color, my skin is the wrong color, my eyes are the wrong color, and I have the wrong gender. He always got angry, why wasn't I a he” they answered as Sonic felt rage at Eggman. He knows Eggman got a few screws loose, but this. This is cruel to them. 

“Well, Eggman is wrong,” he says angrily, not at them, “and forget what he told, ok, uhh.” he stops and thinks a bit. Sonic never asks for their name, “Zero Two.” They answered him, “gez not even a proper name,” he says, madder as he got up and pointed at them. “First off, you're getting a name after I get to know you because you are a mobian just like me,” he says as they nod. 

“Secondly, you are a 99% perfect copy of me, and I don't care what Eggman says or what your physical look like, you are me through and through, even with that one thing I'm not anymore,” he added as Zero Two looked at him with wide eyes. 

“Wait so tha-” 

“Yes” 

“Then it's no-”

“It's not a mistake,” he says, while kneeling in front of the glass and looking straight at them. “You've been pretending to be me for almost five years, and I get it. For the mission, but you've been miserable pretending to be me. Hating every second of it, but you have freewill to choose who you want to be,” he says softly. “So answer this question I have for you,” he looks into their eyes. “Who are you? Or perhaps… who do you want to be?" he added as Zero Two looked at their paw. After a while, they look back at Sonic. 

“I want to be a girl,” she answered… 

Week one: day 6 Guidance

Again i cried like what do i expect really. Also this was kinda hard to do since i didn't to accidentally miss represent and it took me all day to figure out to make sound both good and not completely batch it. BUT hey finally sonic get so love! Jesus i ignored him for way too long! fyi sorry for any typos i tried to fix all of them
