We miss Marina and the Diamonds. A lot. We miss Maria Diamandisโ voice, so operatic and singular, and we miss her pop, so often brilliantly conceptualized and cleverly composed. Though weโve yet to receive anything new from the Welsh artist, weโre more than happy to dance our night away to this new remix of her 2010 breakout single I Am Not A Robot by UK indie rockers Clock Opera. Itโs an unexpected surprise that arrived as one of the rare gems lining Neon Gold Recordsโ 10 year anniversary compilation, NGX: Ten Years of Neon Gold, which also features previously featured tracks from Broods, Young & Sick, and more, as well as a bevy of other treats from artists/bands we love dearly. Clock Opera gives I Am Not A Robot a stringy lush, key glistering re-work. We fall in love with Marinaโs voice all over again while swaying to the lush, verdant take on the track, a symphonic indie dance approach that builds its way towards a sweet release, propelled by much robust bounding joy.
