Hereβs a page that I thought was a really useful reminder: How to apply clipping to multiple layers.
( this just appeared as a link on my firealpaca's opening screen so I guess this is what the opening screen/ad window do now as well.)
I couldn't find anything about this- somehow my layer isn't showing up on my picture, the layer is still there and visible on the sidebar, but there's a gray down arrow next to it and I can't figure out how to make it the way it was before. Is there a way to get it back?

Sounds like you may have clipping turned on for that layer. Select the layer and untick the Clipping checkbox above the layer list.
Clipping means that paint will only show on that layer where paint already shows on the layer below. This is very useful for laying down flat colours on one layer and adding shading or texture on the clipped layer.

Aah hi! I've been trying to figure this out for a little bit with no success, so I'd like to ask you guys- is there an easy-ish for me to take a clipping layer and delete everything that's not visible from it, so I can then turn off the clipping and the extra marks won't be there? Or am I going to have to erase the stuff I don't want by hand? And I don't want to merge the layers all together; I want them to be separate for shading because it's easier for me that way! Thank you for your help! <3
Duplicate the layer that the clipping layer is clipping then check protect alpha on that new layer then copy everything from your clipping layer and apply it to the new layer. Theoretically that should work.

Actually this was just a little test because Lancha showed me the clipping layers (I totally didn't know about them! OAO) and I wanted to try them.
Also I wanted to try some hard lighting to direct the viewer's eye.
And while I was at it I made a video... XD
