The smell of honeysuckle. I want to somehow engulf myself in it. I can’t get enough of it in the summer. I have found some late blooming vines in the past few weeks (the warmer weather) and I am so grateful. The scent is sweeter now, compared to the way it smells in the humid summer months. Reminds me instantly of summertime. The wind blows through the window of my bedroom and the smell wafts in. Or when I was about 8 or 9, when we would spend all day, everyday outdoors and didn’t come in until we were called for dinner. We would pick the honeysuckle from the vine, peel it away and suck out what little nectar we could, for what seemed like hours. The smell instantaneously takes me back to a house I used to live in. I used to take walks in the morning and at night in the summer. I would walk along by myself, clear my head. Sometimes I would just sit down on the grass, look up at the sky, wonder what the hell I am doing with my life?
