Although the essence of who we are never changes, there are many factors that affect who we are as a person. Our family and how we’re raised can effect our morals and values. Our friends can change or heighten these values. Our past and what has happened to us can shape out perceptive. Our levels of serotonin and dopamine can effect our mood and decisions. And there is so much more. The government, where, when and how we were born, the music we are surrounded by, the colors we always see. They all affect us. That being said, I wonder what factors are simply factors, and what are pieces of just me. I’ve learned so much. And all of it leaves me with so many more questions. And I ask the same and most important question of all over and over again. Who am I?
Cliché.
We all have our own opinions of what cliche is, and what is not. But if you think about it, and the cliche happens to you, I bet it would still put a smile on your face and make your day.Â
Nothing is solved over a night.
If it was, I'd be:
- Rich
- Happy
- Care Fucking Free
- Content
- Intellectual
- Etc.
But it aint... There would be no understanding then of how things are achieved. No history. No experience. No meaning. No definite value on how to cherish what has been obtained, because 'easy come' has the tendency of 'easy go'... except contracted viruses...
To seek what we want, we must go through shit we sometimes find tedious, shitty, and not worth going any further... but that is where we can define ourselves by pushing on through and showing our strength of being capable of ANYTHING we want and dream. I believe that no dreamer has had, what they dreamed of, easy... They go against the odds that others bestow upon them.
We were given life to not to be placed in a clear garden with paths that we can prance safely along, but in paths where we undoubtedly brush against mischievous thorns that make us bleed, scar, and hurt... But at the end of it all, they merely are wounds that heal and are possible scars that show history of what you have endured and lived through.
Nothing is solved over a night... and if it is or has, it is only because of the contributions of all people in history, recognized and those unrecognized, that have dreamed, struggled, and endured countless days in making what can be done and solved in a days worth.
