So when we look at the engagements he had planned, he has the Reach covered twice over, as well as the Stormlands, and the Riverlands. Given the Tully engagement and his own marriage to Betha Blackwood, I think it's likely he'd look to the Reach - Jon Arryn is around Shaera's age, and his younger brother Ronnel is around Rhaelle's age (which would put Jon Arryn at about a decade older than Rhaelle - could be worse!) so both of them would serve. There's also Bronze Yohn - we don't know exactly how old he is but I would imagine he's not too much younger than Jon? Note that Dunk & Egg see a Lord Royce who competes in the tourney at Maidenpool which could be a father and therefore places a son potentially around the right age.

Yeah, I saw. It's immensely frustrating, huh? Especially with how people insist that GRRM has always presented the Dornish as white due to his "Mediterranean" comment, ignoring a) the many countries on the Mediterranean, b) the people of colour in places like Spain, c) the historical casting of people of colour as the Dornish, including Tanselle in this very series, thereby making it clear that people responsible for casting are reading them as people of colour and not white people, and at this moment, most importantly, d) the fact that in the very same comment that they refer to, he specifically called out Palestine as one of his inspirations.

At different times, I would have a lot of different things to say about this for a lot of reasons. Not right now. I think that last part sums up everything that matters to me right now, and I don't even have the energy to get mad anymore.

Pretty much my oldest friend in the world, a girl I have known since I was four years old and we were taking the bus back from kindergarten together to the same stop because she lived down the street from me, is Palestinian. We've kept in touch, despite the fact we haven't lived in the same city in nearly fifteen years. She came to visit me over Diwali. And for months, I've been thinking about how if circumstances had been a little bit different, my government might well be making excuses justifying her murder by bombs they sent across the world.

It came from Amber's therapy notes. And I'm sure the two of them haven't been caught off guard by WB hiding Mera in all the Aquaman promo stuff.

I actually started writing a little something for that. I don't know if I'll ever finish it, but here's an excerpt: Steve can see it in her face, before anything ever gets said. The sorrow, the grief, the mourning for the plans of a life now lost, and he hates that he’s part of what put that sorrow in her eyes. Worst of all, he hates the resignation he sees there, and how she had seen this all coming but knew she was powerless to stop it. Pepper should never look so defeated.

His heart aches for Pepper, but he can’t find it in himself to be sorry he loves Tony. That’s not something he’ll ever regret, not now and not ever.

“Hello Steve,” Pepper says, and despite her warm tone, the words judder through Steve like a slap.

“Hi Pepper,” he replies, heart full of pain.

“I’m just here to get a few things,” she tells him. “I’ll be done in a few minutes.” Her tone is inflectionless, but Steve can’t help but feel blame behind the bland words.

(2/2) It would also be extremely naive of him to actually write a family tree with a Jonnel and a Sansa marriage and have him think “hmmmm Jonnel and Sansa.... that sounds just like Jon and Sansa... oh well! It doesn’t mean anything and no one will notice!” I mean come on. IF Jon and Sansa were not meant to be endgame then he would have Jonnel marry a Margaret or whatever and ancestor Sansa would’ve married a Cregan whoever. 

Agreed! If the Stark family lineage had featured a Sansa Stark marrying a Sandor, Tyrion, or Harry, it would absolutely cause me to pause.

yes that was a great moment as well. You could see she was terrified and had not clue what to truly due but she was prepared to do something in the face of danger and she was prepared to die doing it. THAT was a truly queen like moment. 

This is also why I don’t get the complaints that they didn’t just copy the battle of the blackwater with Sansa. She’s not that same little girl anymore. She showed her leadership qualities by even being out there to begin with. It was preplanned that Tyrion and the rest would be down there in the crypts but Sansa was determined to face the army with her people instead of abandoning them. Even though she couldn’t fight she STILL wanted to be out there side by side with her people and she only left because Arya insisted. 

After she was in the crypt she was in the dark about what was going on and scared like everyone else but she still convinced Tyrion to not do anything stupid and had the great quote about how chosing to live, chosing to sit still when you can’t do anything in the hope that you might survive the night is in itself a feat because she knows it’s hard to accept and do when you know the people around you are dying and you can’t do anything about it. 

THEN when the threat spread to the crypts she fled with everyone else but was prepared to fight the wights with tyrion to protect the children and other vulnerable people hiding with Varys. So I’m really not getting the complaints that she didn’t do more. I’m actually glad she didn’t give a fluffy speech. This wasn’t the blackwater, she wasn’t locked away doing a normal war with a bunch of naive girls. This was a war with the dead, fluffy words, false promises, motivational speeches weren’t going to do a damn thing for anyone in those crypts. There is no comfort from the death they were all facing. There were no words that could calm the fear of facing an enemy that shouldn’t even exist and would stop at nothing to see you dead. They were all facing a gruesome imminent death at the hands of an undead army. No songs, no prayers, no hopeful words would change that and every single person in that room knew that. Sansa knew that so she didn’t offer them.
