"I love him..is that not enough?" / @tcbefearless from Cleo about Peter
In the end, Cleo's warning had got confirmed, Captain Hook and the crew had really attacked Narnia. Lucky, the Pevensies believed her and could gather an army before time, yet, the battle had endured far longer than any had hoped, stretching from the pale light of morning into the fading hours of the day. And Aslan, as he had promised and said to Cleo, had gone to awaken Captain Hookβs fate: the Ancient Crocodile grabbed Hook and took him far away, thus the war had come to an end. By the time it was over, exhaustion lay upon the survivors like a heavy cloak, and so, the last echoes of the war faded into the distance and twilight settled gently over the land.
Though the war had ended, many Narnians still held Cleo responsible for all that had befallen them. Nevertheless, Aslan did not blame her for anything, for it was not her sin and decision, but Hook's, so blinded was he by hatred and wrath that he resolved to march against Narnia. Although The Great Lion knew Cleo had served him before, but that was already in the past, and Aslan remembered it no more. And if the lion himself had taken her in, why would others not do the same?
Cleo loved Peter, and Peter loved Cleo, too. He wanted to make her his Queen by marriage, but it was not that easy, for that he had to win the Narnians' acceptance, though some had already wished to exile her from the kingdom.
"For some Narnians it seems not. They have hardened their hearts, they refuse to listen. I know this war was not chosen by you, and I want them to see that too. It takes time for them understand."
