what exactly is "clean hit" is it equal too A counter hit?
The term "Clean Hit" originates in Baseball...it's said to be the point when a batter hits the ball hard enough that no outfielders can catch the ball or that it goes over their heads (akin to a home run).
In fighting games, a "Clean Hit" refers to a powerful critical attack that may or may not have been guarded or is strong enough to hit through an opponent's defenses.
Regardless of the situation it is a critical hit of extreme force that causes considerable stun if not damage whether or not it was blocked (the key being whether or not it hit squarely in the opponent's center).
In Sol's case, a Sidewinder can be blocked squarely and on some occasions still produce a "Clean Hit" which puts the opponent who blocked it in a ton of guard stun and minor chip damage. This also goes for other "Clean Hit" moves like the end Grand Viper, Fafnir, and recently added Bandit Bringer.
Clean Hits in Guilty Gear are exclusive to Sol Badguy, probably to emphasize the physical power he has.
A Counterhit on the otherhand is more along the lines of a Counterattack. In other words, it's an attack that hits an opponent when they are vulnerable from recovering from a previous action (such as a special attack). A character can be put in Counterhit state for a short while if they have been Guarding attacks excessively without the use of Faultless Defense (which uses Tension). In older games, a cranked-up Guard Meter was also part of Negative Penalty for opponents who didn't attack or evaded a lot.
