Doodling more ‘classic’ dragon looks to figure out where I want to go with Saga, because I’m indecisive. Starting to really feel the more traditional style, with all of the unrealistic traits of different species included.

and some shameless color edits to match my usual aesthetic
tarasaar! they’re kind of wedged between the fyrisaar and the mortsaar geographically, which is a rough enough spot as it is, but on top of that they don’t really have anywhere to go if they were attacked - their homeland is a wide plain lace with multiple rivers, which feed directly between the outer sea to the north and the inner sea to the south. the outer sea is far colder, and suffers violent offshore storms, but the calmer and warmer inner sea is claimed by the giisaar. the tarasaar have been a generally peaceful species in order to keep their tentative place between the other groups, converting their ground to farmland and housing and building houseboats and floating farms to utilize the rivers.
their territory floods relatively often, but they are a semiaquatic species and do not mind the change. houses built on the ground have hollow platforms beneath them so they can float in mild flooding, and farms have storm walls; the greatest danger from a flood is losing a harvest, as food is their main export.
their wings have evolved into a third set of legs over time, allowing their forelegs to become more hand-like; with four fingers and an opposable thumb, they are very dexterous and use more intricate tools than other saar races. like the parasaar, they are fishers, but the tarasaar are able to do so on a much larger scale. the tarasaar are also skilled in clam fishing, as their strong tails and extra limbs make it much easier to gather them. they cannot naturally breathe underwater, or naturally fly, but they make up for it with an increased swimming speed and high stamina.
