lookin' for a place on solid ground
âYeah.â Robert let out a brief sigh. âAnd yeah, sure. Letâs do it.â Well. That had been easy. Too easy. âHm? Are you saying yes just like that?â He couldnât or shouldnât complain, and yet⌠it was confusing, if nothing else. âAre you that desperate for Saturday plans? I didnât even have to bribe you with my brother in lawâs heavenly cooking.â Fun to say, when there was no one more desperate between the two than him, or he wouldnât have gone to him.

to make them realize, this is my life
Had he been, would his parents have buried MichizĂ´ with his own name, or with the one they had given it at birth instead? He was pretty sure about what the answer would be, and he didnât like it.

hi clau ⧠âThis sounds a lot like a marriage proposal.â âWell, I would sure hope so.â + um, kunizai maybe? đ
That was by no means how Kunikida had envisioned himself doing it years ago, back when mostly planning but also low-key fantasizing about his ideal future; barely any of the specific details were exactly on his notebook, the same way Dazai fulfilled little to none of the requirements he had noted down his ideal partner should have.
But, of course, he had also realized time ago none of those were actually realistic and he was better off following his heart more in that realm, or else he wouldnât be clearing his throat right then to start out.
âIâd like to tell you something.â Well, what an awful start-- Dazaiâs following joke was a deserved one, in fact.
âWhat, you got us take-out so you can break up with me?â It was crystal clear he didnât believe that, and just in case his tone wasnât proof enough, he was already on the way to lift up a hand dramatically to his own chest.
âYouâre impossible.â Kunikida instantly replied, more fond than annoyed, as he moved to take that hand between his just as fast. Right now, the slight trembling was more due to nervousness than having a bad âyou blew up your own hands in a reckless endeavor and might still deal with the consequences foreverâ day. âIâve been thinking about how, back to our first case, I said I couldnât have asked for a better partner. This applies to life too, and not just work.â Yes, Dazai hadnât stopped testing his patience in any of those two roles, but that was beyond the point right then. âAnd I⌠Iâd like for that to be a constant, as in-- for us to keep being together. Forever.â
âMy, my, Kunikida-kun.â At that point of their relationship, they werenât strangers to being on a first name basis, but Dazai would still always resort to calling him that when somewhat (or downright) teasing; some things never changed. âThis sounds a lot like a marriage proposal.âÂ
âWell⌠Iâd sure hope so.â He continued, holding on tighter to his partnerâs hands. A ring would have to wait, because even if Kunikida had obviously gotten one in advance, doing so much as reaching into his pocket felt like breaking the magic of the moment right then. âDazai Osamu, would you marry me?â
The first answer he got was one of those characteristic smirks that could say a lot if one knew to decipher them. He, obviously, did know.
âI thought youâd never ask.â

all emotional and spellbound
For Akutagawa, everything started (or rather, started again) when the girl arrived at the Agencyâs office. - For Atsushi, everything started (or rather, started again) when the phone rang and he was the closest one to pick it up swiftly.
for @sskkbigbang's 2026 part 1 edition

workin' my way down an old road
âWhy my place, though?â He still asked, because damn if he wasnât curious anyway, more so with such a specific request. âSheâd like to make something for her parentsâ anniversary, and itâs gonna be a surprise. So your placeâs the only option we have for full secrecy, andâŚâ Flambae made a pause looking at him up and down. âYou could use more meat on your bones, yâknow.â

rain
sskk + rain
âTsk, I cannot believe you forgot to bring an umbrella.â Atsushi heard Akutagawa say as he approached him.
âWell, those are brave words for someone who--â He started out, because he clearly remembered his partner going out earlier in the morning with no umbrella either⌠and stopping when taking a proper look at him. Opposite to Atsushi, who didnât even have a hood to put on either, Akutagawa was making use of RashĂ´mon to make the umbrella for him. âNevermind.â
âI knew you were going to do that.â If he meant trying to argue until seeing he had no way to win or forgetting about how it was going to rain, Akutagawa didnât elaborate further on it. âAnyway, get over here.â
âThanks.â Atsushi replied, closing the distance between them and taking cover beside his boyfriend.
âYou didnât think I was going to let you get soaked, right?â
No, he didnât, and both knew that.

another for the drabble challenge: vanilla
umetsuba + vanilla
âIs that vanilla I smell?â Umemiya asked, causing Tsubaki to grin from ear to ear before nodding in affirmation. He had noticed! Of course, that was the idea, but one could still be happy about a plan going well, right?
âDamn right.â Tsubaki swiftly replied, nodding again. âMy new lipstick. It tastes like vanilla too, itâs not just the fragrance.â
âOh, yeah?â As he replied, Umemiya took a seat right in front of him, resting his face in his own hands and leaning in, perfectly in tune with Tsubakiâs own intentions as well. âI wanna try it, then. Not like I donât believe you or anything, Tsubaki-chan, though. But, yâknow.â
âI do.â Was the only thing Tsubaki said before both proceeded with the taste test via a kiss on the lips.
