There are two ways that you can use this immediately. 1. Teachers can watch this entertaining video in order to understand how the game (Once Upon A Time) is played. Hopefully this will get your brain working as to how you can adapt the game for your own purposes in a classroom setting. 2. If you are dealing with Intermediate high or higher level learners that are of adult age you can have them watch the video as homework. There is captioning as well as a transcript available. This way students will understand not only how the game works but they can be specifically pointed towards pragmatic aspects that occur within the film to emulate or discuss in the classroom. These can include clarification techniques, explanation/storytelling techniques, and politeness.

Allow me to introduce you to Once Upon a Time. This is an analog card game that is incredibly simple to play. Everyone has cards that represent places, characters, or events. The group will work collaboratively to tell a unique story. When the 'active storyteller' uses a character, event, or place that is represented on one of the players cards that player can play their card and become the 'active storyteller. Each participant also has a special ending card and they weave their story in an attempt to get to their ending. The ideas are very basic and as you can see from the picture above the game is easily adapted to have any number of unique cards relevant to your topic of choice.
