A comforting take on the classic baked ziti recipe that uses sour cream to give it a creamy texture and a tangy taste. Great for a cozy dinner with the family!
Ingredients: 1 lb ziti pasta. 1 lb ground beef. 1 onion, chopped. 3 cloves garlic, minced. 1 jar 24 oz marinara sauce. 1 cup sour cream. 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese. 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese. Salt and pepper to taste. Fresh parsley, chopped for garnish.
Instructions: Preheat oven to 375F 190C. Cook ziti pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside. In a large skillet, cook ground beef over medium heat until browned. Add chopped onion and minced garlic, cook until onion is softened. Stir in marinara sauce and simmer for 5 minutes. In a mixing bowl, combine cooked pasta, sour cream, and half of the mozzarella cheese. Season with salt and pepper. Spread half of the meat sauce in the bottom of a 9x13-inch baking dish. Top with the pasta mixture. Cover with remaining meat sauce and sprinkle with remaining mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses. Cover the baking dish with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes, or until cheese is bubbly and golden brown. Garnish with chopped parsley before serving.
