New Merseyrail Class 777 Electric Multiple Unit (EMU) train number 777049 arrives at Kirkdale Carriage Sidings / Train Depot on a test run from Kirkby on Friday 2nd December 2022.

It was interesting to note that this train had the "Metro" branding on both ends as well as the Merseyrail "M" logo.

The train headcode is 5G81 1158 from Kirkby to Kirkdale C.S.

The sound of the horn can be heard near the beginning of the video.

This is one a number of new trains that have been manufactured by Stadler Rail in Switzerland to eventually replace the Merseyrail Class 507 and 508 trains which are over 40 years old.
