I’m not upset. I understand your pain. I don’t know it because I’ve never had a relative killed for a hate crime, but I try to put myself in your shoes and know that what you’ve been through isn’t easy. Murder and hate crimes should be wiped off of the face of the universe, and we should do our part to at least try to move forward with this.

I hate people who kill others just because of the colour of their skin, and right now the majority are white. I’m sorry but it is. A year ago I would have been like you, but now I KNOW what it’s like having someone die and living through it and christmas and birthdays and the REST OF YOUR LIFE LIVING WITHOUT THEM. Please don’t ridicule the people stopping this. xx

I’m afraid this message might be more from the beginning of the week, so I really would like, if possible, for you to link me to my post you’re referring to. Maybe then I could give you a better answer.

And even consider deleting it. Because I don’t remember ever reblogging anything that said racism was over, or that the fight for black people’s rights is a joke. I’m outraged and angry at the cops abusing their power and being brutal and walking away free and never facing trial, same as you are. I empathize with and support every single person out there who has been attacked or murdered for the colour of their skin, and also to their friends and relatives.

There was no single moment I ever manifested myself another view about this topic. There was no moment I ever tried making little case of people who go through such violence. There was no moment I ever laughed about this, thought it was a joke.

And you might not hate white people, heterosexuals or males. I believe you. And I do agree with you that, in our western society, white people hold the power and black people are oppressed. But the thing is, many feminists and social justice warriors do hate white people, do hate heterosexuals and do hate males for the mere fact that they are white, straight and male, even though they’ve done nothing wrong. And that is what I have a deep problem with, and that is what I’m going to mock and ridicule.

But please, send me the post which made me sound like a person underestimating racism. I genuinely want to take a look at it.

And, from the bottom of my heart, I’m deeply sorry for you and your brother. I can’t imagine the pain you’re going through, and I genuinely hope the murderer can have a trial and be convicted (but with what’s been going on lately I… *sighs* Ugh)

I don’t know when you have sent me this message (this week I’ve been blogging through the tumblr app on my tablet, which kind of sucks about showing messages), so first of all I apologize if I’m replying too late.

Well, if we get the dictionary definition of feminism, it indeed means equality of the genders. But, for better or for worse, the movement moving further and further away from that as day passes by. 

I used to think feminism was some of the most badass things ever. Hell, looking back at my blog, I would reblog stuff about feminism. It has done a lot to educate me on things I wasn’t aware about, it has made me stop thinking and doing problematic things, it has inspired me to become a better person.

But whatever feminism was a year ago has escalated into what seems to be a group of intellectually dishonest bullies that only want to hurt others the same way they’ve been hurt. They don’t give two shits about deconstructing dangerous systems of power, they don’t give two shits about helping oppressed people. They simply want to have the power themselves to get their revenge. I even go on a full ramble about this right here.

And well, I never labeled myself a feminist (for some years I have a “never label yourself” policy), but even if I had, what this is becoming would have never been what I’d have signed up for. And I know it’s the same with many feminists.

As to the “they’re not feminists”, I have two things to say:

1. No true Scotsman is an informal fallacy, an ad hoc attempt to retain an unreasoned assertion.[1] When faced with a counterexample to a universal claim (“no Scotsman would do such a thing”), rather than denying the counterexample or rejecting the original universal claim, this fallacy modifies the subject of the assertion to exclude the specific case or others like it by rhetoric, without reference to any specific objective rule (“no true Scotsman would do such a thing”).[2] 

A simple rendition of the fallacy:[3]

Person A: “No Scotsman puts sugar on his porridge.”

Person B: “But my uncle Angus likes sugar with his porridge.”

Person A: “Ah yes, but no true Scotsman puts sugar on his porridge.”

2. Honestly? I don’t give two shits if they’re actual feminists or not. They’re doing shitty things, spreading misinformation and hate, bullying people and glorifying it in the name of feminism, and need to be called out on their bullshit. Instead of telling me they’re not real feminists, tell them. But as these freaks get louder and louder, and more and more power and influence on the movement, I barely see any other feminists doing that. And because they feel so backed up and immune to any criticism over their actions, their disgusting behaviour is multiplying and spreading in the feminist scene like fucking HIV.

But well, to be honest, I can’t blame good feminists for being silent. For too long I myself was too afraid of calling out on those people or manifesting any disagreement, of getting anon hate, of starting to be cyberbullied, of having my blog doxxed and reported and deleted because people think I'm a bigot.
