i think on some level he remembers what it felt like to be a mindless and thoughtless raging monster, and how in his moments of clarity he wished for a second chance. but instead of taking his second chance and being different, he thinks “things will be different this time” while doing the same thing

yeah i changed it, i had to play the game a bit until i found horses at the cliffs of quince, then i went back and edited it. the original name was firly cos i didn’t realize that firly pond was right next to link’s house

aita would be like “THIS ISN’T FAIR I DONT HAVE TO DO THESE TRIALS! IT’S ALL HIM” and have a rotten time but link would go further into rowdy boy survival mode and start like, making spears outta branches and hunting birds and catching fish. link might put off actually completing the trial just cos hes having fun and aita’s like “im sick of this dumb island”
