Experiment:Â Music Video Mashup
By Clara Fong (@clara-ftw) & Marie-Lousie Siakki (@louise204)
Ideas/Explanation:
While planning for the project, Louise & I immediately agreed on the idea of producing a non-copyrighted music based video as there might be copyrighted issues. Then, we decided that we would want to do a video with a narrative; we also figured it would be better to film the video around the campus as it is both easy to access & no permissions needed to film in (for most of the campus). The spy theme came up shortly after, following with two issues: how to film a spy theme video under five minutes, and how should we make a short script + a script that can meet the limitations that I mentioned in the first paragraph. As a result, we created a script with a simple story line (but we had so much ideas that could made up to a full length movie lol), and use techniques like time/space compressions to shorten the length of the video. Both of us are happy with the results and wished the length of the video could we longer so that we could put more of our ideas in. Yet conducting a small project like this is a challenge that can improve us as we are now more adaptive where we know how to expand from the limits that were given.
Experiment: Glitch Arts (Click each picture to see entire artwork)
By Clara Fong (@clara-ftw) & Hoi Wing Lee (@lumcs204)
Ideas/Explanation:
1) Movie Tron: Legacy (2010) scene where main character is being "digitalised" as a result of accidental visit to the world of computer.
2) Old TV's aesthetic where it is static and in low resolution.
Experiment: GIFs (Click each GIF to see entire artwork)
By Clara Fong (@clara-ftw) & Letizia Drago (@dragomcs204)
Ideas/Explanation:
1) A result of the combination of a continuous gif and the idea of not wanting to check our student portal for grades/assignments.
2) A result of the combination of a continuous gif and the idea of not "faking" one's identity for free food.
3) The event of an egg broke Kylie Jenner's instagram likes record.
