Isobel didn’t know how she could get so lost. It was a little embarrassing how she’d gotten herself in to this situation in the first place; one wrong on an uneven road had her tumbling face first into the ground with a badly hurt wrist and a nasty scrape on her leg.
Not to mention she’d been alone when she did it. The language barrier didn’t help as she desperately tried to find someone who spoke English, and was given somewhat adequate directions to the nearest hospital. Another awkward few hours later sitting on an uncomfortable hospital bed she was getting a bulky bandage on her leg and a mild sprain diagnosis for her wrist. The worst of it being that no one told her how she was supposed to find her way out.
With her Korean being so poor, she was too scared to ask for help and ended up following various signs that she figured were for the exit. Somehow she’d ended up in the hospital basement and needing card access to find her way back up the stairs.
“...shit,” she whispered, more to herself as she wandered around until she found someone who looked busy at work. But considering it was the first person she’d seen in the last three minutes, she figured it was her only way out. “A..anneyong,” she tried, giving the man a smile and a wave, her attempt at speaking Korean horribly accented.
