But is it a good thing? The South rises and takes Washington, a sinister power that has worked in the background to "build" America is hatching a terrible plot, and the only people left to save it are Harriet Tubman, Johnny Appleseed, the washed-up drunk U.S. Grant and a barely-alive Abraham Lincoln.

In The Civil Four ... Abe lives. History dies.

The above is the preliminary design for a planned screen print for the "warped history" comic. (Colors not final.) The steam-powered Robo Lincoln serves as the comic book's pseudo-mascot.

This printed and web comic (All issues of The Civil Four are in our Comixology shop! Our home site is www.civil4.us) is an ongoing series I've illustrated since 2006, first printed in 2009. Its writer is a comedy/drama writer in New York, my buddy named Casey Van Heel. We just came out with our fifth issue this summer. I thought you might like to see some sketches from this very twisted dark comedy, because it is a pretty bizarre plot that only seems familiar on its immediate surface.
