Collision Course
This is a scene/Au that's been rampaging in my head for the last three days, and I need to get it out before the show starts.
For context, this is an Au where certain people Earth *thinks of a random number* 55 are accidentally sent to Earth 1. On Earth 55, there is no Flash, but is instead called Scarlett or the Scarlett Speedster. Same stuff happens to Barry, his mom's murdered at age 11, dad gets sent to Iron Hights, but on this Earth, Henry is shot and killed in a riot by the guards. Thus sparking Barry's disgust and strong dislike of cops.
He ends up running away in his graduation year (he got his masters in forensic science, he just didn't get the diploma). Barry becomes one of the most successful international thief in the world. He ends up making two friends, Cisco Ramon and Caitlin Snow. The trio does do jobs together, but the also do solo ones as well.
Barry's is Central city scouting out the security of a bank, having decided to go on a heist by himself.
The day of the partical accelerator was to open, Barry was feeling a little bored and decided to commit some small, petty crimes. Mostly pickpockets, and sneaking shoplifting. That night however, Barry gets cocky and to grab a laptop from a strangely familiar girl. He manages to loss her, but he keeps running just in case.
As he's running, a humongous boom sounds out, and shortly after, a wall of orange light washes over him. Confused, he scrambles up a fire escape to the roof. Barry's sees the now charred S.T.A.R Labs and hears the rumble of thunder. He looks up just in time to see the bolt of lightning careening towards him.
Leonard Snart is arguably the best (and oldest) CSI at the CCPD. Even though everyone thought he would grow up to be a criminal, Len surprised them by turning in his dad and going on to be a straight A student, and later, get his masters degree in forensic science and criminology. His reasoning was what he didn't like other people deciding his fate for him. That, and someone had to root out the corrupt cops in Central city. No one should have to go through what he and Lisa when through. He wanted to help little kids like himself.
The night of the partical accelerator opening, Len was working a late shift at the precinct. He had the radio on, the news chattering in the background. With a sigh, he gets up, and as he goes to grab his jacket, he hears the news saying the Labs was being evacuated. Len looks out the window just as the accelerator explodes. The wall of orange energy rashes at him and in a blind moment of panic, he rushes to make sure the liquid nitrogen canisters were properly sealed. The had been delivered that morning (Len never got around to ask why they were; he had lots of work to do, so when the Captain Singh asked if they could be stored in his lab, Len just nodded along) and he hadn't had time to check the sealing all day (yes he worked through his lunch break, Lisa). As he knelt, the canisters ruptured and the last thing Len remembers is just how cold he is.
Barry still goes into a nine month coma, but instead of getting picked up by Dr. Wells, Caitlin and Cisco manage to grab him a few days after he was emitted into the hospital. They monitor him for a while before realizing he was fine, even breathing on his own.
Len wakes up a few days before Barry does. When he was found, he was rushing to the hospital, having received 3rd degree frostbite on his hands and chest. The doctors are baffled to find it fading within minutes. This is quickly swept under the rug as Len started going into hypothermic shock. For the rest of the hospital stay (three days) Len's body temperature would fluctuate, going from normal temperature to anywhere from 95 to 90 degrees. Instead of finding Barry, who had gone MIA, later reappearing as a criminal (imagined his surprise when he found that out) Eobard collects Len, privately hoping to maybe catch the Flash with the potential ice-meta. When he wakes up, Shawna and Hartley are crowded over him.
Bla, bla, bla Len's now Citizen Cold, Thawne gets busted, Barry and Len fight from time to time, bla, bla, bla, Barry tackles Len a little too fast, portal thing appears, and now they're on Earth 1.
Damn, that took a while...
Anyway here's the scene:
With a groan, Barry rolls off Citizen Cold. He didn't know what his workout routine was, but damn, was that man sold. The ringing in his ears quickly fades out and Barry looks around, trying to figure out where he was. One second, he and Cold where duking it out in the streets, the next, they were sprawled on the ground, which looked suspiciously like the main room of S.T.A.R Labs (yeah, Barry had phased in here once or twice in the middle of the night; no it's not stalking, it's called recon). Looking around, he sees somethings. The longer he looks, the weirder it got. There was Cisco and Cait, and that's where the familiarity ended. Standing next to them, was Officer West, and the girl he stole the laptop from. The weirdest part was that he was also looking at a photo copy of himself. And a standing Harrison Wells. Wearing a bowler hat, a black vest, and a grey scarf.
He stared.
They stared back.
Wells waved.
Barry did not wave back.
No one moved until the temperature started dropping. Quickly, Barry flashed to the opposite side of the room, just in time to avoid his head getting iced. Cold quickly roll up to his feet, hands up, and the air misting around them. He did a quick look around, and Barry knew when he spotted the clone.
"Scarlett," he said slowly, one hand moving up to remove the goggles and hood of his frankly ridiculous parka. "Did you create a time remnant?" Barry bounced on the balls of his black-clad feet.
"Nope." He popped the 'p'. Cold barley twitched.
"Then why are there two of you? On a similar note, you wouldn't happen to know why officer West and his daughter are standing with convicted criminals, and most importantly why is Eobard here?" Well blinked, then smiled.
"I'm not Eobard. I am Harrison Wells from Earth 19. BA and the gang call me HR here though. What Earth are you guys from?" The man chipped. With a gasp, he darts away and returns with two cups.
"Would either of you care for a cup of coffe?" He does to hand them the cups, but suddenly stepped back.
"You guys aren't evil, right?"
Len blinks and Barry smirks.
"Nope, totally not evil, man. What kind of coffee are you offering, cutie?" Barry purrs (ignoring Cold's eye roll), taking his cowl off with an exaggerating show of effort. Wells, now dudded 'HR' blinks at the pet name but shake ls his head.
"The Jitter's brew with a splash of milk." Barry hums and saunters over, swiping the cups. He takes a sip and hums again.
"If only caffeine still worked on me." He sighed. Len rolled his eyes.
"You're a criminal, Scarlett." The criminal in question winks back.
"That may be, frosty, but I'm not evil." Len snorts. HR offers him the cups, but Len shakes his head. Barry walked up to the copy, eyeing him up and down.
"So… who are you and why do you look exactly like me?"
The other Barry opened his mouth to reply, but Joe interrupts.
"Why's your suit black?" He asked. Barry gives a dramatic bow.
"All the better to hide in the shadows, Mr. Officer." And yelps when Len throws some ice at this feet.
"Too slow, Cold." He teased. Len just glared.
"Fast enough to do this." Barry's suck to the wall, encased by ice. Len walks up to him, planting a gloved hand on his hip.
"Stay put."
Barry rolled his eyes
"Yes, sir," He replied sarcastically.
If anyone feels inspired by this, feel free to write (credit me though, please and thank you). Also, link it in the comments, I totally wanna read that. 😀
I might make an Au of this (no idea what to call it; I'm open to suggestions.)
Superior Spider-Man and Citizen Cold being my favorite comics has gotta say somethin about me
I wonder what my favorite trope is hmmm
Been reading through flashpoint because I hate myself apparently and I read citizen cold and it really felt like it was the murder scene of Wally West's Flash. All the way down to actually murdering Wally.

AU where Leo and Ray are visiting the Waverider (Sara's bachelorette party, maybe?) and Ray steals a time courier to go rescue Len as the Oculus explodes.
Len and Leo circling each other like feral cats until they both make a snarky comment that breaks the ice. When he sees the two of them kiss and the crew doesn't react- "Oh, so you guys figured out I'm queer. Good. Got it."
Len looking at Ray and thinking 'Sweet, excited, affectionate human equivalent of a Golden Retriever with a huge dopey grin? Oh hell, my type is multiversal.' Ray just being unspeakably aroused the entire time, and we learn that he used to be a Captain Cold fanboy when he lived on Earth 1.
It takes Mick three days to believe that he's not actually going insane. He makes them wear name tags.
"You guys live on a time machine. How did none of you think to do this before?"
"To be fair, when Snart died, he took most of our functioning brain cells with him."
Getting back to practicing complicated expressions.
Leo: I’m a Freedom Fighter, people call me Citizen Cold.
Len: No.
Leo: Did you not understand..?
Len: Oh I understand perfectly I just don’t accept that.
Mayor Snart: …I’m Mayor of Central City…
Len: Mhmm, you’re alright. And what are you?
Leon: I’m Leon.
Len: Not who are you, what are you?
Leon: I’m an art history teacher.
Len: *a groan*
Leo: *a grin*
Mayor Snart: God! We’re boring?!? A criminal is one thing but I drawl the line at uninteresting!
