Thoughts on 異世界の沙汰は社畜次第 | The Other World’s Books Depend on the Bean Counter, Episode 11: I Got Hospitalized:
This will be spoilery for the light novel and manga.
Irodori-sensei also announced that chapter 45 of the manga (seemingly going by the collected tankobon version numbers, not the single chapter numbers) will go up on March 19th!
Ist asking Siegvold to sleep with Seiichirou while five children look on is... well... Very Ist. (In the manga, we only see Sigma looking on, not the other kids).
Blushing Siegvold is cute :3
Aresh smashing the door is funnier in the anime.
I don't know what they're saying in Japanese, so maybe it is just a focus on Aresh's demanding that Seiichirou be handed over like a hot potato or prize. But in the light novel, this is how Yen Press translated this section:
“I manage everything about that one. Give it back,” Aresh announced, glaring at Siegvold.
For a moment, Siegvold had no idea what Aresh was talking about, but when Aresh reached out his hands, he realized “that one” meant Seiichirou.
“‘Give it back’… Mr. Seiichirou is not a thing. Besides, he’s very weak right now. I cannot give him to you.” - Light Novel Volume 2 [Chapter Five] Collapsed Again
Specifically, Aresh calls Seiichirou an it. Hence, why Siegvold is calling him out on the phrasing. This is how the conversation is phrased in the manga adaptation:
Maybe there's more to it in Japanese and that's why the anime English subs are the way they are, with no use of "it"/"that". Or maybe Yen Press' translation was a way to try to better explain the phrasing to an English-speaking audience. Crunchyroll's English subs aren't the best these days, but I'm not sure if it's their translation quality or just different decisions on the translator end.
This sequence is cute:
If only someone did fanfic for Aresh coming back and and healing Seiichirou, combining the light novel and manga scenes and adding a bit :D
This whole sequence is very nice :3
Aww
Seiichirou is Aresh's home :3 And Seiichirou wants to be a person Aresh returns to :3
There is still a bit more in the light novel, which is why I wrote that fic. But this is a pretty decent adaptation of what's in the manga, at least. It also cuts some detail from this part:
“It reminded him of when he had been bedbound with the flu back when he had been a company slave. Back then, too, he ought to have gone to the hospital and rested during the early stages of the illness, but he hadn’t rested until he had passed out from his fever. After they’d confirmed he had the flu, they hadn’t let him go back to the office. He had been capable of working, though, so the office had sent him data to work on. In the end, his fever had reached 104 degrees Fahrenheit.” - Light Novel Volume 2 [Chapter Five] Collapsed Again
And how the manga phrases it:
Again, the criticisms of capitalism are dulled a bit in the anime.
The anime is following the light novel after the Aresh/Seiichirou scene more than the manga, with no Aresh getting back to the estate manga sequence, and Siegvold's comments about investigation into the church being cut short, rather than in the manga, where we see Yurius investigating (Yurius also isn't mentioned in Siegvold's recitation in the light novel, that's a manga addition).
Aresh initially reaching out to caress Seiichirou's face is so cute :3 They're adorable.
Seiichirou loves his pseudo-apprentice.
Seiichirou: It's okay, my boyfriend acts like a toddler with a favorite toy, even in front of other people, just let him be.
Cipriano's Japanese voice actor is so much lol Character actors are fun.
I love Aresh and Seiichirou worrying about each other losing weight :3 fatten up your boyfriends :3 Unfortunately we miss some light novel groping and Seiichirou thinking about how hot his boyfriend is:
“Seiichirou examined Aresh, too. His features were still so handsome that they didn’t seem natural, but Seiichirou felt as though Aresh’s cheeks were slightly sharper than normal.
“I think you’re the one who’s lost weight.”
. . . Aresh traced a hand along Seiichirou’s waist, and even Seiichirou could feel his bones at the surface. Seiichirou’s slender body was a far cry from Aresh’s burliness. As one would expect from a knight, Aresh’s body was covered in muscles. If you looked at just his face, he gave off the impression of a model or a prince, but once he undressed, he was undoubtedly a warrior.
Aresh also had violet eyes that could suck anyone in.” - Light Novel Volume 2 [Chapter 6] Hospitalized
For folks who are confused, Aresh is not asking Seiichirou to refer to him as a child. Aresh is jealous that Seiichirou speaks so familiarly with Sigma, while he's more respectful (and distant) when addressing Aresh. Aresh wants the same level of familiarity and closeness, if not more so, because Aresh and Seiichirou are partners.
Of course Aresh's behavior turns Seiichirou on aldkjalj They're so cute.
Overall, it was a pretty great episode :3 Presumably, Episode 12 will finish off light novel 2 (given the title "We Cornered Him. And Then..."), so it'll be interesting to see what's contained in the maybe blu-ray only OVA episode. I still think it might be a Norbert's reports episode rather than the epilogues, but we'll have to see. I'm hoping Crunchyroll puts the OVA up for streaming, too, but who knows, sadly. Hopefully we get a season 2 to cover light novels 3 and 4!
Read the light novel volumes 1-3 in English. Listen to it as an audiobook. Volume 4 will release in Japanese in April 2026! There’s no announcement yet for when the English translation will release.
Read the manga adaptation in English.
