#circus snacks

I love tater tot hotdish, it is very possibly my favorite dish.

I must understand and believe me, I do. It’s so good! 

I will never forget the first time I went to the circus.  I was four years old and my grandmother decided to spoil her grandchild with a date with Ringling Bros and Barnum and Bailey.  One of my earliest memories on earth, and the fondest with the little time I got to spend with my grandma, who died a couple years later.  My favorite part of the circus wasn’t the goofy clowns, it was the incredible snacks!  That place was a heaven on earth for any toddler and my grandmother let me go to town that day.   In honor of Ringling Brothers and Barnum and Bailey Circus closing shop soon, I figured it was fitting to highlight the best snacks they offered.

1)  Circus Cotton Candy-  There really aren’t many words needed here.  Who doesn’t love a bunch of sugar stuffed onto a stick that is bright blue or pink?  Any parents nightmare for the craziness that ensues after the sugar rush, but it will make your kids day!

2) Crackerjacks- Most people think of baseball games when crackerjacks come into the conversation, but they have been a staple at the circus for years, and was always one of my favorites.

3) Popcorn-  Easy to keep your kid occupied for awhile while they oo and ahh with the show in front of them.  Not only great at the movies, popcorn is a home run hit at the circus!

4) Animal Crackers-  Maybe the most underrated of all, have you ever met somebody that doesn’t like an animal cracker?  Fitting for being at a circus with a bunch of animals present!

5) Gummi Worms-  Last but not at all least, the slimy sugary treat that will eventually lead to your kid snoozing on the way home after a long sugar high at the circus.
