Family dinner @ciprianidxb - our first time (except for J who has been several times). • The place was bustling with the usual well-dressed DIFC crowd. The interiors felt like a luxury ship with three levels of dining areas with the bar and terrace towards the back of the restaurant. • We shared a few starters: the steak tartar with melba toast and the calamari and scampi fritti, both portions good enough to share. The burrata and truffle pizza came next (the most underwhelming dish of the evening, we could hardly taste the burrata and there were only a few meager shavings of truffle on top). • Next, J had a pepperoni pizza (his usual), C had tagliolini with butter, and A and I had the bucatini cacio e pepe and veal Milanese to share. The portions were large and had we known, we would have ordered less as what we did have could have fed six instead of four. • Service was seamless and almost ballet-like with white-jacketed-bow-tied servers busy gliding back and forth across the packed dining room. • We couldn’t leave without having their famous vanilla ice cream “whipped a la minute”, a mini mountain of creamy vanilla ice cream served with a pitcher of dark chocolate sauce and some candied nuts. • It was a pleasant dinner accompanied with expected steep prices although with their large portions enough to be shared, it works out to being about the same price as any of the other DIFC fine dining restaurants. We’ll definitely be back but know better to order better next time we do. • #TravelswithaGourmet #TWAGDubai #CiprianiDubai #foodiesofinstagram #FoodieDubai (at Cipriani Dubai) https://www.instagram.com/p/CH3a6mmHSLF/?igshid=15gj0g3t256wx
