@cinnabund / someone pokes the side of his rib. someone grins cheekily afterwards. someone slides over a plate of burg and fries when she usually wouldnât have. someone decides to push a stool back and seat herself snugly on it as she tilts her head at the skeleton. âyo, bonehead.â she rests her cheek on an open palm, beaming. âya still remember who i am?â
@cinnabund || unpromptedÂ
to say it had been a while was an understatement, and while the bunnyâs location was no mystery to sans, he decided to simply give her space when being help captive by family duty required its share of distance from everything else. everyone else not exempt.
there was familiarity, warmth... and even perhaps a dash of affection in her soul. through her chest -- though venelope might have walloped him on the head a couple times before without realising what the skeleton truly was staring at -- he could see it flare brighter when she was near him. almost as if, after all the toils and tribulations her family no doubt made her wade through, being next to him was the closest to alive the sagi must have felt in a long time.
â nah. â the skeleton replied after the atypical approach, fries and that water sausage patty burg the skeleton could often be caught eating her bargaining chips. â no idea who you are, lady. but, uh, can tell ya got some experience wining and dining âem first, eh? âÂ
it was a joke, of course. highlighted by that habitual wink before he popped another fry into his mouth, gloved hand resting on top of venelopeâs paw above the barcounter. how long had it been since sheâs even trimmed nose claws? sans sat on the thought idly while poking at them both affectionately and to test for his own phalangesâ piercing resistance.
â kinda surprised ya remember me though. â
venelope couldnât have known what heavy a burden those words carried.
...it was best if she didnât know, too.
