For my Cinema final, we had to script and storyboard a scene from a short story. I chose W.W. Jacobs’s The Monkey’s Paw. I scripted 5 pages. There’s 18 lines of dialogue in those 5 pages. I have drawn 35 cells. I just got to the 5th page.
That awkward moment when I'm not procrastinating on a project...
I'm working on my cinema project which isn't due until the end of the month. But I'm really excited about it because I get to do it on Tim Burton, one of my favorite filmmakers.
I feel like there is a chance I am going to really go overboard with this project...
Oh well...
I'm going, but we're really getting off topic now.
Miwa Matreyek - Projector Performance at TBA:11
Cinema Project presented a program at TBA:11 featuring projector performances by LA's Miwa Matreyek and Canadian film artist Alex MacKenzie. Matreyek's Myth & Infrastructure exhibited her usual deftness as an animator which would have been more than enough to hold an audience's attention. Add to that a precisely choreographed narrative using two projections plus a live, silhouetted performance by Matreyek and you can bet that minds were blown!
