It was likely wishful thinking, but Cikara didn’t want to kill any more friends. They didn’t even want to kill Nira, Jaya, Saka, and Arthan, but they had realized a long time ago that the war would never end as long as the four of them were alive.

Take a war weary Jakari, add extra willingness to go to extremes to end the war, subtract gender and several ethical boundaries, and boom! You got yourself a Cikara.

I am gonna need popcorn when those two finally have a conversation. Or mech fight. Either or.

They’d fought side by side often enough during the rebellion. And then there had been the incident with Mamachi.

I want to devour this book to get the answers to what the fuck the history between Cikara and Jakari is. What side of the civil war did they fight on? What was the dividing issue for the civil war? WHAT WAS THE INCIDENT WITH MAMACHI!?!?!?

I'm getting brown coats who walked different path when it came to adjusting to the new world order right now.

Unfortunately (not really I enjoy this way too much) I have a process, so it's gonna be a hot minute before I get any of these answers.

Maybe I have low standards and am projecting but I get the impression Cikara is just as tired of this war as Jakari, but perhaps currently more on the jaded side of the spectrum than the tired side.

Oooh so Cikara is an opposing general is who recognises Jakari, and not just by reputation. Interesting that we're getting their point of view.
