A warm breeze found its way through your open window. Birds joyfully chirped as if to welcome the new day. The comforting arm of your sleeping boyfriend wrapped around you as your eyes slowly opened. Jeongin was lying snugly beside you, allowing you to feel his chest's slow rise and fall. Attempting to get up without waking him, you felt his arm tighten around you. “Don’t go yet. Stay. Please.” You smiled to yourself, relaxing against him once again. You closed your eyes, wanting to etch this morning into your memories forever.

Finally, out of bed, the both of you sat for breakfast, yawning. Eyes half closed, Jeongin moved his chair closer to yours before resting his head on your shoulder. “Innie, are you that tired? Go on back to bed, I’ll finish then clean up,” He shook his head before muttering a response. “What’d you say?”

“Wanna stay here. Next to you. With you.” The soft strands of his hair tickled your neck. You could smell the faint scent of his hair. It was like a warm summer day, that was the only way to describe it. Finished eating, you stared out of a window, leaning atop Jeongin’s head. The trees, tall and limber, swayed in the gentle breeze. You felt your eyelids get heavy with sleep.

“Guess it’ll be a lazy day today,” Sighing, you walked over to the couch, a sleepy Jeongin in tow. “C’mere my little fox,” Arms open wide, he flopped down, wrapping his arms around you like a baby koala. Your eyes shut soon after Jeongin found a comfortable position to stay in.

Waking back up an hour and some later, you found Jeongin still sleeping soundly on top of you. You smiled, glad he was getting the rest he needed since he’s been staying up in preparation for the new comeback including filming, dance practice, photo shoots, and track reviews.

Snatching a book from a nearby table, you began to read since you didn’t want to disturb the sleeping angel. One chapter in, you felt like you were being watched. Lowering the book, you saw Jeongin’s eyes peering back into yours. “Sorry, was I heavy?” His galaxy-like eyes searched yours for discomfort. Reassuring him otherwise, you caressed his cheek, causing him to nuzzle your palm. “Can, can we have more lazy days like this?”

“Of course, my love,”

“Babe, I’m hungry. Craving something sweet.” You groaned, pulling Felix away from his game. “Make something with me?”

Felix hurriedly pulled you over to the kitchen. “I’ve always wanted to try and make this,” From the cabinet above, he pulled out a thin blue binder, flipping all the way to the back. “This cake, this strawberry cake.”

“So that’s why you bought strawberries,” You opened the fridge, pulled out the strawberries, washed a few, then took a bite. “Mmm sweet, here, try it,” You took the bitten strawberry and popped it into Felix’s mouth.

Felix hummed, “That’s really good,” He pulled flour and other ingredients from the cabinets. Reading the recipe, you started measuring the ingredients. When you grabbed the flour, an intrusive thought entered your mind. What if I just- Poof. A splat of the powdery substance landed on Felix’s forearm as he beat the egg whites. “Love, don’t start now,” he warned, a slight smile appearing.

“But what if I want to?” Mischievously, you grabbed a small handful and threw it blindly, scurrying quickly away. You heard a bowl clatter on the counter.

“Get back here,” You squealed and ran back into the kitchen where Felix came by and tossed a big handful of flour at you. You retaliated with an even larger amount.

“Wait wait,” Giggling, you put your hands up. “Truce! Until the cake is done,”

“Fine,” Felix smirked as the two of you, both a flour-covered mess, rushed to get the cake into the oven. “Now we wait,” He said, as the oven door shut. He walked over to you, planting a kiss on your cheek.

In the meantime, you started the strawberry frosting, adding more sugar as you pleased. The cake was cooling off to the side. “Want to do it?” You passed the frosting to Felix who began to frost the cake. You admired the view. His soft hair was pulled back, allowing you to see his concentration on the cake. His dark brown eyes were unblinking, staring intently while piping the frosting atop the cake. He's so beautiful.

“How does it look? Good?” Felix had a bright smile on his face, flour dusted all over his clothes and hair. Rosy pink splotches of frosting on his hands. He looked like a little kid who was finally let into the kitchen for the first time to bake. You laughed. The joyous sound filled the room.

“Yeah. It looks good. Good job, Lixie. Shall we try it?”

“Pictures?” Felix left the kitchen only to reappear with his phone in hand. Finding a nice angle with lighting, he took a few pictures. “Now we can try it. Close your eyes.” You complied, confused by the request. “Open.” A chunk of cake entered your mouth. It was sweet, the strawberry flavors melting in your mouth.

Opening your eyes, you saw Felix smiling. “Open wide, Lix,” You cut a piece and put it in Felix’s mouth, making a bit of a mess. “More please,” you asked Felix for more cake. Laughing, his hand was unsteady, accidentally smearing frosting on your nose and mouth. You gasped, giggling, as you took leftover frosting and swiped it on his face. “Payback.” You smirked.

The two of you were smiling as you wrapped your arms around his neck, resting your forehead against his.

You were going abroad. Leaving for school, making you leave behind your current life. Making you leave behind Minho. You were already having a hard time taking in the fact that you were leaving for 5 years to a foreign place with no one you knew.

Minho knew how much you wanted to learn the arts, encouraging you to leave, saying, “5 years isn't too long. It's okay. I'll be here.“ Already ticked off, you retaliated, screaming that he only wanted you gone and that he won't be waiting when you come back.

“Fuck this, I'm going. I might not even come back. Maybe I'll find someone that wants me to stay.” With the slam of a door, you quickly scrambled to finish packing.

“I- fuck. fine.“ Heavy footsteps tread away from the door. Packed, you set out the house key and all the pictures of Minho. Tears threatened to fall but you pushed through and left. It was an hour to the aiport. All throughout the ride, you were quietly sobbing, making the driver uncomfortable.

Minho sat with his head buried in his hands at his desk, a few tears falling. He was so confused. “I only encouraged you to chase your dream, as you did to me…so why, why is it like this?“ He stopped, looking towards the office door, hearing the front door slam. Shit. He jumped up, grabbing his coat and keys.

Approaching the front door, he saw the pictures and keys, scattered all over the floor. He picked one up. It was a picture of you and him, after his first concert. Minho's heart clenched as he left to chase his lover, his best friend, his motivator.

It took an hour and a half to the airport. You dabbed at your puffy red eyes, pulling your hat down even lower. You sat, waiting in the terminal. 1 hour til I can forget and start anew. Looking around, you saw families, couples, students leaving and coming back. I am so sorry. What if he's not actually going to wait? Are we already done? God, I'm so stupid.

Remembering that you bought the tickets on a shared account, Minho found the terminal for the flight as he raced through the airport. 30 minutes. Don't leave me just yet love.

With 15 minutes left before boarding, he made it to the terminal. Staring blankly, you broke your concentration to look at the guy who ran to the chairs, looking around for something or someone. He was covered up, wearing a certain dark navy jacket. The one you gifted him for his birthday.

He's here? Eyes wide, you ran up and hugged him tightly from behind. You sniffled, “Looking for someone?“

“Yeah, you,” a soft chuckle rippled through his body. Minho turned around and picked you up. “I…I didn't mean that I wanted you to go. It's just- when I wanted to give up training, you encouraged me. You pushed me. That's why I fell in love with you. I just want you to chase your dream now,” his voice cracked at the last part.

“Min, I'm so sorry for yelling. I was just stressed- and scared. But that is no excuse for what I said. I am so so sorry.“ You buried your face into his warm chest. Gentle hands traced patterns and softly pat your back, a quiet comforting motion.

“Last call for boarding!“

“Are you going?“ Minho asked, breaking the embrace. “Will you be here when I come back?“

“Of course, love” with a kiss, you left.

hey y'all it's been a while since i've posted since i just had a really stressful week with tests leading me to not have the motivation to write

i might have felix's part done by the end of this week, if not, i'll post an outline of some sort that pretty much highlights what i planned, if all goes well i'll be able to write an actual piece

“Minnn~ What’s that for?” You wrapped your arms around the waist of your boyfriend.

“Nothing.” He stiffened. “Not for you.” He quickly covered the dish and thrust it into the fridge.

“Are you mad? What’s wrong? Okay, yes, I forgot your morning kiss. I won’t forget ever, I promise.” Minho’s gaze kept avoiding yours. The wall, the counter, the way your fingers peeked out from the sleeve of his over-sized sweater. “Don’t pout, Min.” You reached up to run your fingers through his soft brown hair, but he pulled away.

“I'm going to practice. Bye.” He grabbed the many dishes he made, put them into a bag and grabbed his practice bag, which looked a little larger than normal.

“Love you.” You sighed, beginning to clean up the kitchen.

“Why did I do that.” Minho leaned back onto the wall of the practice room. Felix walked by, trying his hardest to hide his amusement.

“You know you can’t be all cold to them just because you’re nervous. That just makes them more nervous.” Chan shook his head. “Here’s the lights and jars you wanted.” He handed Minho a box which was later followed by Jeongin placing a basket next to him, giving Minho words of encouragement.

Your phone began to ring. It was Minho. “Hello? What’s up?”

“C-” He cleared his throat before speaking again. “Come to the park in an hour.”

“Uh. Why?” Minho was random. This was nothing new but today was weird.

“Just get over here, dumbass,” You could hear him smile and laugh a bit over the phone.

“Look at how soft he gets when he calls them,” You heard Minho yell while Hyunjin apologized profusely in the background as the rest of the members were laughing. Poor Hyun.

“Whatever you say, Min,” You laughed.

The sun was gone when you arrived at the park. You couldn’t see Minho. Except for a dimly lit picnic area a distance away. You chuckled, “That can’t be Min…oh… Shit-” You stopped abruptly. You could recognize him anywhere. He was hunched over his phone, waiting for your text. Carefully, you got closer behind him and texted Minho to let him know you were here. As soon as he saw your text, his head shot up, looking for you. Once he saw you, he had the biggest grin on his face.

You gasped at the scene. Dainty fairy lights were coiled into little jars that were holding the blanket down. Some were hanging on stakes that were put into the ground around the blanket. He had a basket full of your favorite foods, the ones you caught him preparing earlier today. “Aww, Minnn…This is so beautiful. I love it,” You hugged him tightly, feeling him hug you back. ‘You did all this…for me?”

He nodded sheepishly. “I wanted to surprise you. But you caught me making the dishes today and my brain and mind kinda just stopped working. Sorry if I made you angry or annoyed with the way I acted today. I was just so nervous. Also, please don’t forget morning kisses again. Promise me.”

“Always.”

"Ugh I hate seeing all these couples on campus. Makes me miss having relationships myself. But I already called it quits," Complaining, you shook your best friend. Him, used to your whining, kept doing his work.

"Bun, you're so dramatic," Shaking his head, he looked at you. "You don't think that some people out there feel the same way? Take me for example, you've know that I've wanted one for a long time."

You made a face at him, "That's easy for you, you can actually pull," laughing, you lightly punched him in the arm.

"What's to say that what I get is not what I want?"

You cocked your brow at him, "Beggars can be choosers, okay Mars?," Mars was your nickname for him, always wanting to see the world on fire. But he wanted to light it up for you. "Although...I don't like the dudes that ask me out. I'm not that desperate."

"Are you desperate enough to date me, Bun?" He lifted your face with his hand.

"What are to talking about, dumbass?" You rolled your eyes at him, used to his flirtatious manner.

"Date me then. Date me. You missed a relationship. I wanted one. It's a win-win, isn't it?" He smirked, pulling you closer, daring you to try and break free from the grasp he had on your face.
