This was a long time coming. The CHIKARA History Project started in October of 2013, when Leonard F. Chikarason proposed an update to the CHIKARA Wikipedia pages to the Hellenic Air Force, AKA those of us who had helped push and get attention for what eventually turned out to be Season 13. The Project itself eventually came to fruition with Babs, Sen, and myself putting our heads together to research and write out summaries for the then-12 Seasons, fully intending to get them on Wikipedia once they were finished. Though I’d been a CHIKARA fan off and on for several years at that point, I actually didn’t know much about events prior to the BDK’s formation, so I crash coursed myself using the chikaraspecial event archives (which, honestly, I wouldn’t have been able to write very much without) to write for several Seasons. It all came together pretty well. We had every reason to believe that part two of the Project, the actual Wikipedia publishing, would go well too. It didn’t. We were wholeheartedly rejected. I’d rather not get into discussing it beyond that. Those are memories and feelings best left alone. After that, it was largely dormant (with some discussion of hosting them elsewhere at the time), but we still had the original drafts posted to the Air Force’s private forum on the 101, so we could keep them in case we wanted to do something with them in the future. It’s been almost two years since they were first written, but that future’s finally here, and I’m happy to see it reach the light of day at last. I hope to do more like this in the future.
