my muse's social tendencies.
Eren’s pretty... I wouldn’t say he goes to purposefully make himself stand out (though he probably did at one point, especially in the beginning of training), but at first he seems a bit distant, a bit hard to get along with, someone you wouldn’t want to approach if you thought about it long enough. Not to mention all of his rumors spread being the ‘kid who talked big about killing all those titans and can’t even work his 3DMG.’ Eren tried to pretend he didn’t care about his social standing, which wasn’t the truth until he DID fail at his first attempt on the 3DMG, and he tossed any superiority he had out the door in order to maintain his chance at becoming a soldier. There are times in this arc where he doesn’t mind being anything short of an asshole and doesn’t necessarily think about the impact his words may have on others, though after getting to know other people, and other people getting to know him, it wasn’t hard to bring him out into a casual conversation. He doesn’t understand many jokes which often influenced them even more with the 104th crowd, and had reactions that caused everyone to continue to do anything to stimulate them.
Later on, he becomes more apprehensive, especially after joining the Survey Corps and being pulled from the comfort of the people he’d known for three years now, few longer, and is a lot less abrasive or confident in his approach toward others. He seems more nervous or anxious in this regard, but doesn’t mind if someone starts a conversation with him first-- it makes it easier for him to carry it through.
Then, he went through the phase of remaining relatively emotionally dormant, apathetic. He didn’t approach anyone and hardly carried conversation as it was. He was quiet, distant, and would generally only speak short term to those who started speaking with him first, offering little to no reaction to anything at all. Mostly spacey, unapproachable, and lost in his thoughts.
Currently, Eren is a bit more mature, doesn’t mind going to start a conversation with someone despite the occasional nervousness that might come along with it, isn’t afraid to ask questions, but is more quiet and reserved than he once was. He appreciates those who make the effort to talk to him and doesn’t have a problem carrying through a conversation.
how I think my muse will end up when they're older.
This is a really interesting question, oh geez... Though, I can’t say I haven’t thought about it. I mean if Eren makes it that far, if there’s a success and he DOES get to grow older (without dying or something), I don’t really see him dabbling in any sort of relationship type of ordeals, exactly... I feel as though he’d continue in the Survey Corps, constantly working and growing, and if there comes a point where the titans are eradicated and no longer exist, he’ll begin his explorations, and considering the vastness of the world, I don’t think he could ever cover it all. I think he’d just be a bit of a drifting traveler, finding things from ancient times (probably modern for us lbr), and studying the histories of different types of things. I don’t think he’d be much of a family-oriented type of person, because even if he could/did fall in love, his dreams would outweigh his other desires, and he’d push it aside to attain what he’s always wanted to. He’d cherish that freedom and would feel guilty wasting it in any way. Probably along side of Armin and Mikasa if they make it so far. I mean this isn’t exact it’s just... an idea. ?? idk
what my muse views as their worst personality trait
Incompetence!! He’s constantly building himself up to something he cannot be and making promises of things that he cannot do. He goes through his ‘Special Person’ arc, which was pretty much all of the series until he realized he wasn’t the ‘Special Person’ he thought he was. He thought himself to be something greater, some powerful hero who could save everyone, the beacon of hope to humanity. But that wasn’t him. He’s just an ordinary boy who lives pretty confused, constantly trying to strive and learn for himself what reality truly is. Anyway, with all of this convincing himself that he could do things that he couldn’t, came immense amounts of failures on his part, and with those failures came the disappointment of everyone which in turn lead to the fear of that failure. He deems himself incredibly incompetent, unable to be what everyone expects him to be, unable to perform the tasks that everyone wants him to, and he wishes he could be the person who could be these things for these people, but he’s just a regular human being with no outstanding talents. He hates his incompetence, or rather, he hates himself for being incompetent, and would do anything to become the light that everyone looks to him for, rather than letting them down again, again and again.
